*Official* New Zealand tour of UAE and England 2023

Actually looked at his record and tbh 25 at a s/r of 91 isn't that bad for DW, just seems to never do it when it matters, but maybe just a perception. Often Willey flatters to deceive I'm told.
Not ODI tbf, but had a fantastic allround game in that 2016 final vs the windies that brathwaite wacked the 4 sixes in. Made a 150 sr 21 on a deck very few others could time the ball on, and took 3-20. On the topic of that game, never got why brathwaite didn't get MOTM. Samuels knock was fantastic, but brathwaite finished the game and also took 3-23 in the england innings while removing Jos, root, and willey, who where the three england guys who had substantial scores at a decent clip.

They applied to join the county championship in 1948 but were rejected and things have never been the same there since.

He was a great opening bat in List A and T20 for Northants. Seem him score some cracking hundreds.

Alas he's fell victim to often trying to hit the ball too hard at international cricket and why he's became a tailender get us a few quick runs.

Still remember that game against Sri Lanka he got a chance to bat a lot of time to try and get England a score. He got out cheaply slogging and Woakes scored 90 odd and was MOTM.
I, too, remember this match.

In terms of Willey delivering under pressure, if memory serves he did well with the bat in the World T20 final where Stokes' got Brathwaited at the end. Gave us a total we almost defended after an early collapse.

So Nasser just said he'd go

Roy/Malan
Bairstow
Root
Stokes
Buttler
Brook

So we're giving Root 10 overs a game then facepalm.

Surely Ali and Rash are both in? Doubt we are going to bowl 30 overs of spin unless crazy pitch.
Yes but if Nas had his way we'd have to find 10 overs from the top 6. So either 10 from Root or a couple from Brook.

It's pathetic from him he's said that's his top 6.

Nobody that wants Brook in the side has been able to put out an XI that will actual work.

He's not an opener but it's the only way he gets in the team.

Stokes "took" his place in the side. People are wasting all their effort talking about Brook and I don't get it. He's class but Stokes won us two world cups with the bat.

Ali, Rash + 3 seamers is 50 overs outside of the top 6? Have you miscounted?

Horrific over. As bad as it gets, watches NZ dry us up bowling length, Woakes at the other end choking them with then and he just bowls half volleys.

Must give credit to NZ for this persistence with Will young in ODI's. Him over Allen is very justified. Allen's time will come. He could enjoy the decks on south african soil in the 2027 wc ;)

Poor jamieson, last 2 games been bad for him but he was never a lock for the white ball stuff was he. And hmm lockie looked decent today. Lets see where that goes. Milne will get his chance this series too. I think southee is doing the best he can filling in for boult. Power to him. Ravindra excellent. His best outing so far in NZ white ball cricket.
