Clarkson over Allen and guptill in t20. Conway and seifert/phillips can open anyhow. Phillips comes in to face the new ball most of the times anyways. He's just hit 100* in the CPL and Allen looks terrible.

Allen looks a million bucks at list A level. Means nothing. He's just hit 100* in the CPL and Allen looks terrible.
Far better to open with Mitchell, Ravindra, or even Foxcroft imo than pick Guptill for the World Cup. Even Seifert. He's just hit 100* in the CPL and Allen looks terrible.
I’m English though mateDisagree. The most watchable white ball cricket we played was around and inside the 2015 world cup under mcccullum in recent times. That was anything but conservative.
Unfortunately Warren Lees was scapegoated for leaving the SL tour after bomb blasts. He was doing a great job. Then Howarth had not enough discipline and Glenn Turner had too much. It was only when Rixon came in that things turned around. We were terribly mismanaged in the 1990s also.
About right. The Crowe/Rutherford wars didn't help, and then the odd appointment of Germon. Rixon and Fleming turned things around.Unfortunately Warren Lees was scapegoated for leaving the SL tour after bomb blasts. He was doing a great job. There's no room for Kane in a properly selected full strength NZ T20 side. It would improve the captaincy though. What a weak-gutted capitulation from New Zealand. But if you are losing T20 matches to the UAE, how on earth can you compete with England in their own back yard? A fit-again KW will at least add a veneer of international class to the current NZ dog and pony show…can’t believe the merkins who want him dropped from the T20 side.
could give them Brook for the ODI’s!!Ca't we give them a few players, just to make it competitive. this isn't fun
Yes, laughable. But the alternative, although true, doesn't make for a great soundbite if you want to keep the captaincy: 'poor selection policy and zero vision over a number of years dictates we're more than a bit sh*t at the moment'.If you’re after a laugh this morning, re-watch Tim Southee’s post match interview where he says we have a young team and they will learn from this
One guy 25 and under, another 29 (with plenty of international experience) And then Seifert at 28 and Phillips at 26 who have played over 100 games between them.
The 7 other players, all over 30. Has Gary Stead ingrained this team so badly with his boring, dads army approach that the team actually thinks having more than one guy under 30 constitutes being a young team?
