This knock should give NZ some hope that it's possible to score quickly on this wicket though, been productive off the pull and cut, suggesting there is enough pace to work with, but hasn't looked in trouble going down the ground off the front foot too.

What will worry them is how much turn Patel was getting, already little puffs of dust and some break up of the top soil off the straight, that makes Dilruwan's arm ball effective and Embuldeniya was quite crafty at KW and Rosco going at him in the 2nd dig

That batting line up is actually lookin good when chandimal comes back. None of your bowlers are mugs with the bat either.

Yeah, and it's contributed a lot to NZ's difficulties with finishing an innings off. The overuse of the short ball against no 10 and 11 is a bit of a pet peeve too but tbf Southee and co usually execute it well.
