3 off 9 is unacceptable at T20 level, especially when you're 1 down. At the very least should be getting singles.

Guptill's form is encouraging.

pommie saying there's little the groundsman can do in winter. I'd imagine the roots of the grass just don't grow enough to firm up the surface or something like that.
then don't play imo. Serious risk of plugging and doing your knee here. Imagine if AB did his knee? would be such a sad moment. Man i'm wahhhing just thinking about it.

Now can we please forget about Latham playing anything but red ball cricket.
Don't make posts like this unless you're prepared to stick your neck out and name the domestic guy with more potential, thanks.

Now this is what Munro can do when you bat him in the proper position. Also Kyle Abbott is extremely overrated in South African quarters.

Should we bring a yellow plastic Kiwi Cricket tee out onto the pitch for him as well? Just very poor bowling tbh.
Yeah but would you rather trust him to build an innings with a big risk of throwing his wicket away and put his side under even more pressure or would you send him in the death overs with the freedom to smack every ball?I know what I would do

I really think this view is anachronistic to Maxwell and Munro type strikers.

If they complete the innings and are not dismissed, because they invariably have the highest strike rates, they should have batted earlier. Being 2 down, or 3 down (with Maxwell or Munro dismissed) makes no difference to the overs or batting talent remaining in the 11 man line up. Its all about batting them where they can do the best result for the team. If they can bat 4, 5, 6 or 7 and average 25-35 with a 200+ SR they're beneficial anywhere in the batting line up. You cannot have an entire team of icing players, but you need a few, and should bat them earlier than the "death" overs. They're match winners.

Anyway, Milne has done good things with the bat on this tour. His batting seems to improve. Maybe he bats in the nets during his bowling injuries.

Apart from Latham & Ronchi, who probably cost them scoring 190, not a bad effort from NZ.

Btw - When did Brownlie fall so far back in the ranks? Not a T20 specialist, but was pretty solid in his last ODI outing for NZ vs Pakistan in the UAE.

Looking forward to watching Milne and Sodhi.
