Very good innings. Built up properly, and when in the typical Chanderpaul situation (i.e. left with the tale), he had a decent swing at it.

Samuels not showing much faith in his partner whose last innings was 95....
Why does he bat at 11? I've just checked Narine's batting figures. Nothing much to go by, but to bat him up front Best & Roach beats me. I guess putting Best in at 9 makes some sense.

Pleasantly surprised, good to see Boult's been effective against the lefties. Interesting watching Roach bowl these days, he's not as quick as when he first burst onto the scene but he's got everything else you could want in a quickie.

don't feel very comfortable about Watling out there - he is camped out on the back foot and not getting forward with conviction.

Watling doesn't look a Test opener right now - can't even begin to describe that shot (fend? waft? fiddle? flirt? prod? nibble? none of them seem to suit...) that Powell's just spilled.

Yeah, awful shot. Knew it was too much to ask for that we'd get through the day without losing a wicket.
