Taylor - 12.56
Shillingford - 13.16
Benn - 17.92
Roach 10.51
I don't know WW but as a New Zealand fan I will be dissapointed if one of your guys gets a 50 and two or three others 20s and 30s based on their FC averages.
Worth keeping in mind that WI batting conditions have been incredibly woeful for a while now so those figures may be a smidge lower than the actual batting quality.

That said, all of them are batting one spot too high at minimum.

Personally if it was up to me i'd wait for the ball to get old and then maybe put Taylor/Holder in at four for when the spinner/Neesham comes on...that way they may have the best chance of nicking a cheeky 30/40 and we'll still have Darren Bravo, Shiv and Ramdin in the hutch.

Yeah, I am bit worried about Craig's bowling, I hope he does well as his batting has been a real bonus but I am not confident.

the way craig is playing doesn't surprise me at all now I think about it. Any time an NZer has a good debut it's immediately followed with tripe (whether they eventually come good again is another matter)

That was an enjoyable days play. I really like watching matches at the Kensington Oval, it's a fast scoring ground and batsman get value for their shots but the bowlers usually get a lot of help, especially on the first and last day.

Neesham really impressed me today. His previous hundreds had an element of middle/lower order striking about them but this innings he looked every inch a test match middle order batsman.

So good to have Kemar almost back to his best, his bowling to Latham was World Class, that's the Kemar I know (take note Blocky!!!). I thought Benn actually bowled worse than he has in any of the other tests but the conditions helped and he got a well deserved five wicket haul.

As for our tail, I'm a bit worried about it and I'm quite frankly devastated they dropped Blackwood, I love watching him bat and Shilly just didn't look right at all. Maybe he'll come into his own and prove the selectors right in the second innings but I'm not sure it was the right move. I guess if the top 6 do their job we'll only need a few lower order cameos, but it's very risky.

One thing is for certain, nobody can accuse the West Indies of being negative, they are going all out to win this series with that lineup.

Apart from former CW posters. CW provides the ideal hazing of spiteful sarcasm and shattered dreams, to make them better prepared.

Is Matt Henry playing the dinky T20 leg of the tour next week? He could break the hoodoo perhaps.

Yeah that was the best I've seen Roach bowl in this tour. Taylor was poor though. Thank God. Holder got a lot of movement and does get some pretty good bounce too.
If both Roach and Taylore can get their act together at the same time, the WI attack looks really, really good!

Why did West Indies pick 5 bowlers?
The thing nobody understands.......

Also one more thing on Holder...i remember when we went to Australia early this year for the ODI series and all of our batsmen were falling like flies to Starc and co on fast tracks...but Jason came in two or three times and really held his own out there which is another reason why the selectors may have been comfortable with that decision...i hope he comes in at six tbh so we still have Ramdin up our sleeve if things go wrong.
Your've obviously seen a lot more of Holder then me. The little I have seen of him suggests he can hold a bat, but personally I'd be ****ting bricks if he was due to come in at number seven for NZ. One 50 in 21 first class matches, a first class average that stacks up to New Zealand's number 11. It could get fairly messy pretty quickly IMO.

Wow this thread is terrible. From both sides. Even sledger joined in for a bit, the ****.

Time to search for all the Kippax posts in it, only way I'm ever going to be able to follow this series.

Holder's definitely a better batsman than his record suggests IMO but yeah, he's a #9 with #8 potential at this point. Nowhere near good enough for #7.
