Pretty poor stuff from Fleming I thought, looked good and needed to buckle down and go on for a big score with no batsmen to come. Totally unnecessary.

Martin should open for NZ. If we're going to gift the opposition a wicket, it may as well be someone we gift them anyway.

Maybe not, from Cricinfo - "A team spokesman said he had not yet been ruled out of the match although he would not bat again in the first innings."

Pretty much disappointed today with the NZ batting. Thanks to Cumming and Vincent for providing a good start. Vincent in particular played some excellent shots. Loved his aggressive approach to his batting. Fleming once again could not convert good start in to big one. At one point, it looked we are posting a huge total when Vincent and cumming are playing. OMG, not this time even! Expect Martin to stay as long as possible with Vettori. rare case though

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Just woke up and looked at the scorecard. :( Cumming very unlucky to be injured so close to 50. He battled very hard and I'm liking him more and more as our opener. From all accounts it sounds as though Fleming played with reckless abandon which is good in some ways but ffs he should know better as the elder statesman and just knuckle down to continue on with his great start. Pretty spineless stuff from the rest of the line up however. Cumming and Vincent showed them what to do, but I guess they just ignored it.

Great bowling from Steyn, however. He's coming along in leaps and bounds since his first test against NZ last time round where he was a little raw but bowled well.

Liked the look of Craig Cumming early on, was unfortunate that he picked up an injury.
