Openers - Absolute shambles IMO, why they are bothering trying to turn Marshall into an opener im not sure. Papps is a better bet and so is Cumming. Infact i would go as far as saying most first class openers around NZ are a better option than Hamish.
I'm convinced Bracewell is getting Hamish and James confused. He thinks Hamish is the opening batsman of the family when actually its James 8-) 8-)

Can someone please start up a poll where we vote what planet Bracewell is on? I vote Mars.

Sad to see that no Mason for the SA tour. Good on him for saying he isn't fit.

If it makes anyone feel better, I reckon Bracewell will be sacked following a poor 2007 World Cup, and will be replaced by John Wright.

That does not make me feel better. That means the next year and one month is going to be, well, crud.

That's crazy. Why single out the only guy to get past 100 in the current series? As big a fan as I am of Peter Fulton, he should make way for Oram, not Styris.

Um, cos he's crazy?

And I too am a Fulton fan, but unless he wants to open, he goes down the pecking order behind Styris.

Funny thing is, Fulton did say before this series even started that he would be happy to open, so why Marshall wasn't played at three I don't know. If I didn't know better, I'd say that Bracewell is deliberately trying to upset people.

I'd say is just a huge fan of Hamish Marshall and is trying to keep him in the team as long as he can.

Then logically, it would make sense to play Marshall at 3, where he's scored all his runs.

I don't agree with that because that is also where a lot of his recent failings have been. IMO, (and many others), Marshall did not deserve the # 3 spot any more. However, there was a "vacancy" at opener, so Bracewell could sort fo justify picking him using the "there was no one else" excuse.

I realise you're speaking on Bracewell's behalf, but I still can't help pointing out he's an idiot.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
I have a feeling Vincent won't play any tests again until Bracewell has gone, which is a shame.

Or until he decides to "rest" Fleming. Have some faith. You know how up and down our players' form is, as well as Bonkers Bracewell.

He's an idiot. He's forgotten who his mates are, and from what I've heard, his commentary is just crap. That stuff he said in the changing rooms...
