I'm surprised Kyle Mills got off without even a warning after that episode yesterday, while Langeveldt got fined 75% of his match fee AGAIN for failing to appeal in time for a caught behind, even though it was clearly out.

Although, on the subject of Mills, I suppose getting creamed all over the ground and having your keeper not appeal can hurt just as much as a dent in the pocket

The highlight of last night's match had to be Fleming mocking Graeme Smith's way of celebrating after taking the catch of de Villiers...it was hilarious.Fleming can get so sarcastic in a funny sort of a way

I missed it....although heard from a host of radio- talkback that it was a disgraceful effort by Fleming.....particularly as they were 3-0 down in the series. Please explain what happened in more detail for us that didn't see it.

He took the catch at slip, looked a bit bored for a second then suddenly started sprinting with his fists in the air yelling "woohoo!" and jumping around.

I didn't know what was happening at first and thought he might have just noticed the D/L calculation or something!

The coverage on the news of the game was crap...they only showed the wicket of deVilliers and then Fleming's thing quickly, so I'm not entirely sure either (and I watched it on 1 news, 3 news and Sport 365 on Sky). Also, Sky hasn't been great with this tour, the only highlights have been in the middle of the night which is hopeless.

NZ really looked as though they lost the plot in this series. It was almost like they threw the toys out of the cot in the final game.

We've got to build a better pool of fast bowlers. With all due respect to Mills, he's just not quick enough and if he doesn't get it right then he's going to go for plenty of runs. We've got to hope this domestic season that Butler, Sherlock & Davis get plenty of game-time and wickets.

And i'll also be keeping an eye on Jamie How, Michael Papps, Ross Taylor, Jesse Ryder and Peter Fulton this season. They've all been around for at least 2 seasons so it's time to step up and put some pressure on the current Black Caps.

I'm suprised Mills got away too. I guess the match referee is just scared of our big fearsome "enforcer"... Sideshow Bob!

As for that Langeveldt one, that was for Marshall's wicket right? I didn't even hear an edge there, and Boucher didn't look confident.

Well they would have taken into account with Langeveldt that it was a repeat offence, so the fine would have been higher.

Interesting Tim....I may be wrong but weren't you talking up Mills recently ??

Not to any great extent..Infact unless you can find anything, I doubt I would have.
I used to think he had potential, and to some degree he still has but like most NZ players he can't seem to reach it.

To be fair, Mills wasn't as bad as he usually is... maybe he's improving. He'd be the last person I'd expect improvment from, though.

Easily, I was born in England, live in South Africa.. Therefore no contest! Nah I like to see both sides do well, as long as they aren't playing each other, when I just support the team without Kevin Pietersen in..

I don't understand why would they call it a 'disgraceful effort'?! You've to feel sorry for Fleming...NZ were 3-0 down and with the rain imminent at that time and the D/L method they were about to be 4-0 down, it was a frustrating and disappointing series and Graeme Smith and Fleming aren't the best of friends in the world to put it lightly...so I think he was letting off a bit of steam and there's nothing wrong with that. So I think people should back off a bit.

Quite easily...it's about the love of the game, not the love of the country (which I don't have).

Another KP "fan" :D (Please realise the sarcasm here! :) )

Most people can't understand our hate for this man, but after some of his comments! :@

I had always said I support any team that plays against Shane Warne, that has changed, now it's any team that playes against KP!

Sherlocks got serious injury problems

I don't think he has played a club match yet this season

Reports coming out today that Fleming was not even speaking to John Bracewell at the start of the South African tour because Cairns was left out!. I find that hard to believe, but to be honest it wouldn't surprise me either.

Watching the way the team reacted in the field during the final ODI they appear to look frustrated and as though they are expecting things to just happen for them.

The concern is that there just doesn't appear to be many options to fall back on. Pace bowling is bare. That news about Sherlock is disturbing, but in the end it doesn't surprise me because of our history with quick bowlers. Butler still appears to be struggling with injuries, Daryl Tuffey seems to have lost the plot a little.
Batting has been ok, but nobody has really stood out and demanded to the selectors that they be picked except for maybe Fulton and Matthew Sinclair who seems to churn out large runs against FC & 'A' teams every year.

Fortunately after Australia we've got Sri Lanka & The West Indies so there will be a chance for NZ to regain some confidence.
