***Official New Zealand in India Nov-Dec 2021 Thread***

This scoring rate will only take the chance of a NZ win off the table
Yeah India kept a lid on things in that last session which means NZ still have to make the running now. Interesting to see how this plays out tomorrow.

The truth hurts. India have nothing to lose in this series (apart from the series itself). If we win, "lol NZ lost to India A". If we lose "lol NZ only beat India A, doesnt count"
Nah. Loss will hurt massively considering we lose only 1 series per decade at home ( since 90s)

Bat all day tomorrow (lol, as if), run down the middle of the pitch while taunting Ashwin "isn't this what you want?"

Tim Southee and Kyle Jamieson to take all ten wickets between them.

Whatever it takes!!!
New Zealand have done very well but I think they missed a trick in that last session by not trying to get more singles at least. The run rate actually came down and if the ball swings tomorrow morning or it does funny things as it has done in the last two days, they may yet regret it.

Very disciplined effort from New Zealand and they fully deserved that little bit of luck that went their way so far too. From India's PoV, Rahane is kinda reputed to be a very proactive captain but his captaincy was extremely slow today IMO. Umesh is usually useless with the new ball and giving him that many overs basically gave a sighter to the NZ openers. And his handling of Axar left a lot to be desired too. I would have had far more overs out of Axar than we have and maybe just a couple of 3 over spells for the seamers. Hopefully we come out with better plans tomorrow.

One thing that does worry me about Rahul as the coach is he tended to be pretty bull headed about his decisions as captain both of India and at RCB. Hopefully he has mellowed a bit more and is more flexible here. He also mentioned how he never tried to prioritize winning series for India A as he saw his main priority being preparing folks for India duties. Hope it works out but its obvious team had no specific planning for either openers and were chasing the ball a lot today with the fields. Need to tighten up tomorrow.

It's only the 2nd day. NZ should look to bat the whole day tommorow and declare around lunch on day 4. India should pray for rain otherwise I can't see them getting out of this with anything but one nill down

I remember when we had no one averaging over 40 in the team. Now we've got Williamson, Taylor, Nicholls, Latham, Conway, Jamieson, Young, and Mitchell (admittedly the last 4 with few tests). Amazing time to be alive.

Don't get me wrong he is not bad. I'd put him on par with Shane Watson. Looks good but fails when matters. He is very good though
