Watling really should be at 6. Too much responsibility without enough authority.
I think I'd actually go as far as batting Watling at five but yeah he definitely shouldn't be down at seven. It was one thing having him at seven when it was working and he was still making lots of runs, but that's not really been the case since McCullum retired and I'm not sure we can really just pin it down to poor form.

There has to be some deeper vitriol for Pujara beyond his proboscis nose, non-smooth skin and his strike rate surely?
Not a part of any IPL teams. Our corporate overlords feel he is taking away credibility from other valuable assets.

Can't really agree with this.

"Santner shouldn't bat higher than 7 at this point of his career" would be a more apt statement I think.
Happy to throw in the "at this stage of his career" bit, as who knows how his batting will develop. But whenever I see him play, he looks like a text book modern number 8. Some good attacking strokes, usually good for a counter-attacking 20 and not much more.

Yeah tbh Santner bats in a way that any bowler would struggle not to juice themselves in excitement at seeing a bat-pad gap so large that if it were a pair of supermodel's legs even the President-Elect Trump would try and have a grab.

India's not going to enforce the follow on. They'll opt to bat again, Gambhir, Kohli and Nohit will dowhill ski fifties, then they'll declare with a lead of like 1000 and then bowl NZ out on the fifth day.

It's going to be long and cruel.

I'm furious about that. It's probably ended any chance on NZ finishing on 353.
Look at the scorecard fam. The 5 runs have been added as extras already. Him triumphantly getting out slogging on 353 would only be met with murderous stares.
