I hope so. But... who? It's not batsmen that we need, it's bowlers. And NZ isn't too hot on the bowling side.tooextracool said:so are they going to call for back up players or what??
cheekytooextracool said:butcher will surely play, unless you happen to be on the selection panel.
Can't fault you there. This last year must have been hell. He bowled well for a while today, but as soon as Nasser took command, that was it.Gaijin-san said:I don't think its unfair. A decent bowler he might be; but he just doesn't get wickets often enough.
wish you would bring up how trescos poor footwork cost him his wicket....decent article though.luckyeddie said:Match report for you idle gits who cannot be bothered to go the Cricket Web front page can be found here
nope it should be giles or tresco....for the selectors it will be giles or hoggard(despite the fact that he is custom made to bowl at headingly) and i just get the feeling that it will be hoggard who will miss outluckyeddie said:I personally feel that if Vaughan is fit, the casualty will be Giles. The other possibility is Strauss. Four seamers at Headingley, please.
At the end of the day, these are the problems selectors love.
By the sounds of his interview at the end of the day i think we've seen Hussains last match.luckyeddie said:cheeky

Well its no secret Hussain has wanted to make that 100 test caps. Unfortunatly that would mean he'd have to play a number of the WI tests too, which i think wont happen as he'll probably be dropped after the NZ tests. So i have a feeling that he will retire now.gio said:Rumour is Nasser's may retire in the next 24 hours. Speaking on radio 5 live, he siad he has to go home, have a think, speak to his dad and decided wether a match winning hundred at Lords is a good way to bow out. I personally hope he doesn't. He deserves a hundred caps, he's been vital to England's progress these last 5 years.
Just improved it 50,000,000% for you then, TEC - glad to.tooextracool said:wish you would bring up how trescos poor footwork cost him his wicket....decent article though.

Not at all. The ball looped up off his pad from Vettori, ran up his chest and wedged under the bottom wire of his visor. Smiles all round when he realised he was still alive.PY said:An interesting image: (snipped)
Did Strauss take one under the visor? Looks painful.
Yes, but are the England top order the same sorts of batsmen as Astle, Cairns and Oram who the Kiwis had in at the time.tooextracool said:looking at what martin and oram are getting out of the relatively new ball, it makes me come back to trescos decision of bowling with the old ball yesterday......doesnt look like runs are flowing off the bat now does it?
