Problem with Adams is that over the last year he has turned him self into a very average criketer, Anybody remeber the pakistain series?
Yeah. He played two ODI's and was kicked off. I still think he's worth more of a shot than that - I also think his bowling is better suited to longer matches, but that's just me. He tries too hard when he only had the ten overs to work with. Needs to learn to cool down a bit. Still, I believe he's one of the bigger talents in the NZ team.

Not exactly the youngest player anymore, mind you... and that makes me think maybe it wouldn't be so worthwhile. Hrmm. Still, I'd like to see him given a shot. He has, after all, done better than Franklin with the ball in league cricket, and if Franklin can make it, well, you know.

I saw Ross Taylor hit 130 at the Brook and it was the best display of hitting i had ever seen.
I assume you mean only of the games you've actually been to... do you go to many international games? Painting a big picture for a young man in a first class match!

Back to the match: Uh oh. :(
The more I watch Vaughan's field placings and the way he discusses them with his bowlers, the more I think we have the makings of a quite brilliant captain.

100 wickets to Hoggard as well.

And here we see the difference between bowlers who can average 20 in First Class cricket making the step up.

TV replays apparently suggest he wasn't out. Don't be too quick to the call. :p

Which Taylor are you talking about? Ross Taylor hasn't played a single ODI, has only played 13 first class one-dayers and averages 48.45... which is still impressive, mind you. Bit quick to bring him into the world scene, though.
Opps take out the I in the ODI lol

I meant First class Odz :D

Neil.. what r u talking about ? there are 2 batters ur talking about ? Franklin and Mills ? well franklin is not out at end of the innings.. and if u look at the replay mills was not even out..

163/1 to 384/10 - that's 221 runs for 9 wickets in a side that has 10 men capable of making decent runs. Ooh, bugger.

I agree that the ball seemed to bounce in front of the keeper, but the decision to give him out was probably one taken to save him from further punishment - sort of a 'mercy caught behind'.

I think you are underestimating Mills' batting ability - averaging 40odd in FC cricket on NZ's infamously bowler-friendly pitches is certainly not bad.

There's a lot of cloud cover now, although it should get brighter in an hour or so (wind blowing from our house towards Trent Bridge, just got the sun poking through here a bit)

Cairns has just marked his runup.

Note to Vaughan and selectors : Please don't burn Harmison out for the West Indies.

Oh yeah - Fleming was saying he intended on playing more attacking cricket instead of being on the back foot from square one - how does the field reflect this right now?
