Best character design ever.
I wish I could take credit mate, but I nicked it off someone else !

Being new here and a rabid Hants fan, whats your view on why Tremlett is given more of a chance. Best bowler in the India series last summer, best bowler in the A game last week and 5 wickes yesterday against a strong surrey batting line up

Surely he's more dangerous than Hoggy who's a like-for-like with Jimmy?

Didn't think Tremlett bowled better than Sidebottom in said India series TBH, much as they were both pretty impressive. I said at the time that his exclusion for Broad in Sri Lanka was madness - it looked like it might be on the rectify in New Zealand... then he got injured. And Broad did well enough in NZ to keep his nose in front.

If Tremlett stays fit and Broad doesn't do terribly well and Tremlett takes some bigger bags (hasn't exactly started the season sensationally, though hasn't been poor either), Tremlett could be back in the side. He's never given me the impression of having done everything he could do to have done, but he's unquestionably to my mind the seam-bowler with the most potential in the country right now - more even than Flintoff.

I guess Tremlett's ODI hopelessness has probably counted against him in Test circles. Not the first time, obviously, and every single case of it is deplorable.

Sounds fantastic then.. At least NZ managed a top effort weather wise in the test series down here a few months back (even if the ODIs were a bit disrupted). ;)
Yep, as I said at the time, was superb. Never seen such a period of prolonged dryness in NZ TBH.

The poms need to focus on beating nz instead of looking ahead to sa and the ashes.
It was only 2-1 in nz and it wasnt as one sided as it is being made out.

i am still hoping we will get some good cricket in today:wacko:

I agree .. were not that strong a side IMHO. Mickey Vaughan is *really* struggling and either he comes good this series or his place is seriously under threat. He's going back to 3 where he should be a little better but he's not made any runs this season at all

Bell and Colly ditto have done poorly for their counties and the juries still out on Bell, especially on diffiuclt tracks .. can look a million dollars but gets himself out far too often. Colly is a decent bet at 6 because he'll do a decent all rounders job

The bowling is better now Harmisons finally gone and Jimmy/Hoggy will drop out whenever Flintoff comes back

I think Southee will have a field day over here in early summer. ..

So from the sounds of it everyone at Lords will drown today?

Bowl first if we can, get the pommies out and throw the English media into the Shark Pool.

Actualy think Anderson could have a field day if England bowl first. Talented bowler, just can't bowl on unhelpful wickets. If he could he'd make a pretty good seamer, a bit like Hoggard in his prime.

I'd be tempted to bring in Shah for Bell. Bell needs to get some Collingwood like backbone in him imo. Pretty good batsman to watch though.

yep deffas bowl first. Just tell Southee to have a crack and mills and martin will threaten aswell. I would rather not expose our shaky top order in wet conditions with a moving ball.

Though the covers are on (it's hard to tell so don't take this as gospel and for some reason they're not showing what's happening) it doesn't appear to be raining.

Oh, our coverage cuts out. So we're missing the riveting conversation between Gower, Hussain and Athers. How sad.

Having said that, it's just come back. Blast.

Was watching Survivor until 9.30, turned over to the cricket and the coverage cuts out immediately. 8-) Back on now, interview with Sidebottom, presume the start has been delayed?
