don't forget the great tradition of lesser aussies scoring truckloads of runs against us then failing against everyone else.
Fmd that'd be an uninspired little release right there. Thanks for going out on a limb, David Leggat.Possible New Zealand squads for England
Tests: Brendon McCullum (c), Peter Fulton, Hamish Rutherford, Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor, Dean Brownlie, Martin Guptill, Tom Latham, BJ Watling, Tim Southee, Doug Bracewell, Bruce Martin, Neil Wagner, Ian Butler, Trent Boult.
ODI/Champions Trophy: McCullum (c), Guptill, Watling, Williamson, Taylor, Grant Elliott, Colin Munro, James Franklin, Andrew Ellis, Dan Vettori, Nathan McCullum, Tim Southee, Kyle Mills, Trent Boult, Mitchell McClenaghan
MM won't be fit in time for May. But is in line to be fit for ODIs in June.McClenaghan could be very handy in england in may .could pip butler .can guptill really be a contender for the test squad ?
Surely at least one game will be rained out?Tipping us to take all seven home Tests this summer
Funnily enough, I thought barring rain Eng would win 3-0 in NZ.Tipping us to take all seven home Tests this summer
Born in New Zealand, he is a man Australia will be thrilled to call their own over the next few years.
They must be going to open with Ronchi. EDIT - yes they are. The only other option in there is McCullum, and I don't think that's happening. Funny someone like Papps scores a lot of 50 over runs, but they pick someone who had a pretty average Ford Trophy and HRV Cup. Hope they are right (yes, I think Ronchi is a better ODI option than Papps also).Guptill
Ronchi
Williamson
Taylor
Elliott
McCullum
Franklin
Vettori
Southee
Mills
McClenaghan
will be the respective teams imo
In Bracewell's case I think he was introduced at the right time, and obviously his performances were crucial to away wins against Zimbabwe and Australia. I think the mistake was playing him in too much ODI & T20 cricket which I'm not sure he's that suited to. Henry is in good form and early season England might be a reasonable place for a pace bowler to debut. Although Ellis obviously appeals as a solid, no-nonsense type of player. Not fussed about Henry not being in the team. Just look at how letting Boult develop and strengthen his game in domestics has helped him compared to Southee and Bracewell who just got chucked in the deep end.
Frallisullum can GAGF. Munro doesn't have a track record of mediocrity yet so it's not fair to group him in with them.
