Reminds me of Asif. Has that wobble about him.I was just thinking that.
Looks a pretty good bowler to me - hardly the quickest but quite accurate and uses angles/seam movement nicely.

It’s outLol that's poor from Root, caved in to the pressure
I’m sure they’d prefer to be scoring faster but this bowling really isn’t hittable.Yeah, this is the sort of situation where McCullum would have tried his darnedest to push for the win. Williamson obviously more pragmatic. I suppose if NZ add another 100-120 from now to the end of the first hour tomorrow they could make it an uncomfortable declaration for England but looks tough going at the moment.
When NZ went in they couldn’t lose realistically. They should have just been looking for a quick 270+ lead . I don’t think pragmatic is really right word rather defensive minded and his field settings and batting showed it too.Yeah, this is the sort of situation where McCullum would have tried his darnedest to push for the win. You dont have to hit to score runs in tests though. There can be some better proactiveness from them. But its obvious they are treating this as ony a warm up here.I’m sure they’d prefer to be scoring faster but this bowling really isn’t hittable.
True. He gave the best decision possible both times IMO too.Feel for the umpire on both reviews there.
They definitely weren’t in the clear. England knock teams over for double figures routinely at home. When NZ went in they couldn’t lose realistically. Walked the talk, didn't he?Ollie’s research on the opposition clearly paying off there, though was very surprised at the successful review.
Agreed on the field settings. Batting - England’s attack has been relentless, thought Latham/Conway did a great job seeing off the new ball, could be much worse. SMH over the nightwatchman though. When NZ went in they couldn’t lose realistically. They should have just been looking for a quick 270+ lead . Not on this pitch and after the first innings bowling performance. I wouldn’t have been worried about that if I was NZ .England must have a big fear factor for oppositions like NZ based on today as Nz have dug themselves into a hole hereThey definitely weren’t in the clear. And Ollie deserves it.. I think KW was extremely lucky to get away with the first one. Pretty sure he did not hit it.
They were not going anywhere even before, TBF.Wagner has just stalled the innings completely.
