*Official* New Zealand in England 2021

Wow, Boult nailed the straight drive. Possibly the most conventional attacking shot I’ve seen from him, and it brought him no runs.

NZ's tail is actually really good. They've all got the ability to hit boundaries against good bowlers, they just haven't worked out how to construct an innings around that.

Root taking it into his own hands now. 80 is a sizeable lead already. Ajaz and Boult have to be eyeing taking that up to 100.

Entertaining alright and a good little innings from Ajaz. That said, NZ squandered the chance to bat England out of the game, they’ll be cross that England are getting to start their second innings on day 3.

On to the second half of the test then, should be a cracker.

Decent lead. The idea of New Zealand getting over 500 and wanting to bat once was never happening. That’s not to say that England aren’t capable of being 84 all out.

Yeah I think this is a bit of a peeve across the NZ contingent on this forum really. Southee, Boult, Henry etc are definitely not at the Chris Martin end of the tailend batting spectrum. Capable of getting more out of themselves than troll runs.
