I think most of us NZ supporters would have also taken this when the team sheet was announced, and at lunch yesterday. Decent I suppose from NZ though they'll battle to repeat this in the second dig.

Makes for an interesting test for sure.
I'd have taken this at lunch day 1 for sure!

Will be interesting to see what plans they've got for Devon. Now they have reasonable footage to work out where to attack and where to bowl to keep him quiet.

Broad around the wicket tested him last time around, guess the plans will start there

The first few overs don't seem to bother the batters in England. Most bowlers bowl fuller searching for swing offering few run scoring options. Once one side scuffs up they start making the ball talk. At the moment it's not looking threatening.

Doully spoken like a true no 11 of course the batters and non strikers watch the ball till its gone past the gap. Doully is marveling Devon was watching the ball after it was hit straight so he got back. The fact is Broad got reasonable hand on the ball so allowed Devon to get back. The bs the commentators sell

Broad absolutely nailed Tom there. As soon as there was scuff Broad and Anderson control the line and length so well.

Really looking forward to young batting. He's a stroke maker and hope he plays his shots.

Meanwhile Bracey finding it hard to grab the ball cleanly.

Thought that was more on the side of **** batting than good bowling. Hadnt got them to move away yet so so no real reason to miss straight one angling in.
