Youtube is the best form to watch live cricket imo
The t20 series in Bangladesh which was only on YouTube was poor quality when I used the YouTube app on my tv, definitely better picture and easier to make things out when it’s on a proper service. But maybe that’s just me and my set up. It seemed like the frame rate was much lower than usually which gave things a very staggered look.

If TVNZ had got it, there's the option to show it on Duke, where they'll show the bulk of the home summer. Three doesn't have that option; they can't very well show the Tests on Eden or Rush, can they? ThreeNow is their only realistic option.
They’ve just done a big upgrade ThreeNow, so that will be why they got the rights in the first place, promote the new platform. :)

It will be interesting to see how streaming impacts sports business over the next 20 years.

I now watch about 10% of the quantity that I used to (over all sports).
But, I watch about 500% more test cricket from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka than I used to ... because it has been free on youtube.

Some sports, or leagues, or governing bodies, will be sent back to amateurism, I reckon.

I don't have any advise. Can't put the cat back in the bag.

Oh definitely poor production wise. I meant accessibility. I mean I cant obviously stream a NZ based channel on my tv

We should go for -

1. Joy
2. Zakir
3. Shanto
4. Mushfiq
5. Dipu
6. Nurul
7. Miraz
8. Taijul
9. Shoriful
10. Khaled
11. Hasan Mahmud

Three pacers and two spinners should be good combo in sylhet. I dont think Sylhet has got spinning pitch like rest in bd. I’d be surprised if they made one for this match. So going with three spinners will be a waste. Not sure why selectors keep on picking Khaled for tests. Mushfik Hasan is a better option.

Hopefully it has a positive impact on test cricket, I get the feeling people will go to the effort to watch that if it’s better available, but not random t20 leagues or the hundred.

But it might just be the hardcore and not be enough to have any meaningful impact.

I haven't been into 3Now for a year or so. Do have the app. But it was really bad, also the stable of programming TV3 had was just really, really, terrible. All reality tv crap.

I used it to watch one programme on there with my kids.

I think I will watch it via 3Now, rather than via youtube (even though I have an app for that on the tv), to give it a bit of a boost as product worth pursuing for the major broadcasters. It will make someone in our household log in to their app for the first time in about a year.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
This will be my first time using it, and I barely ever used the old version either ... heard it was terrible though haha.
I starte dusing it again recently to rewatch Mad Men as a background noise tv show whilst doing house stuff, but invariably end up on the couch as i finish up and wind down at the end of the night. Bugbears were:
  • The play/pause/ff/rw buttons on my tv remote do not work with the app at all. Every other app has this functionality, but not 3Now (I mean it could be a Sony Bravia/Google TV thing)
  • Scrubbing to ff/rw is kinda painful imo
  • It insists the last episode I watched was two seasons ago when I want to resume playback
  • Actually that isn't a problem anymore because the "resume watching" part no longer exists for me when I launch the app, meaning I have to search for the program in the list again
  • All of season 2 had bad sound - thought my speakers were on the fritz but no, it didn't apply to any other app or live tv. So maybe a bad file for the entire season
On the bright side, it's snappier than the TVNZ+ app which is laggy af
