his fielding and medium pace bowling were very good though. with medium pace he took 1/28 off 8. the runs will come against pakistan and windies hopefully..

just on keepers though, why is it that any keeper that visits australia ALWAYS seems to bat quite well and be good at hanging around for a while at the crease?! I mean in recent years we've seen McCullum, Patel, Sangakkara, Boucher, Jacobs, Parore, Stewart all bat pretty damn well in Australia, yet many keepers in other series around the world seem to fare a lot worse....
because 3 of them- mccullum, sangakkara and stewart are quality players that would make it into the side on their batting alone. boucher on the other hand didnt exactly do anything brilliant on his last tour

Oh, c'mon mate. We don't want to stop the game everytime there is an appeal. What if we are in India, and it is the last day of the test and the batsman gets hit on the pad 4 times in the one over, are we going to stop the game 4 times in the over to look at every decision?
no the umpire only refers the decision which he is not completely confident about to the third umpire. of course the third umpire should be allowed to if an umpire makes a wrong decision to reverse it if it wasnt referred to the third umpire.

Yes, and are you aware of the number of times the close calls have been unproven despite 10 replays being watched?

How does a 5 minute delay for an inconclusive call help (and bear in mind that it's only the close calls that will need it)

With a quick succession or replays, and no time wasted waiting for that stupid pop-up figure to tell the decision on the big screen, it will take far shorter than 5 mins.

After a set period of time, or looks at replays, the umpire can call it back to the umpire on the ground to make the decision.

Even the doubters can surely agree to a trial? See what happens in an ODI series, then go from there.

I assume you've not been watching the game over here then - frequently it has taken an age to show that the technology cannot make a decision.

it doesnt take more than 3 replays, frankly if you cant make out from 3 replays whether the batsman is out then you're never going to get it. most lbw's can be made out on the very first replay itself. the caught behind's of can use snicko and a replay and can be found out conclusively on the first replay too.
