aussies are on a 2 game losing streak, good to see that they no longer miss michael bevan
Since then he's performed extremely well in both league and county cricket in England and judging him on those ODI's is like saying Sinclair should never have been brought back in (and bringing him back in hasn't hurt us), or that Martin shouldn't have been played against South Africa.bryce said:haha thats a joke! adams cannot bowl away from home and of late his bowling seems to have gone off the boil completely,

well he didn't look too flash against bangladesh.....Loony BoB said:Since then he's performed extremely well in both league and county cricket in England and judging him on those ODI's is like saying Sinclair should never have been brought back in (and bringing him back in hasn't hurt us), or that Martin shouldn't have been played against South Africa.
Having said that, I don't rate Adams higher than Butler, Franklin or Mills at the moment - but that's purely because I've not seen him perform. Best to reserve judgement, considering he has improved dramatically in the domestic world (in both mentality and in level, as playing in County cricket is far better than playing in NZ's domestic games).
the bangladeshi's took to him with reletive ease btw. i'd hate to think what the australians might do on a half decent pitchLoony BoB said:Since then he's performed extremely well in both league and county cricket in England and judging him on those ODI's is like saying Sinclair should never have been brought back in (and bringing him back in hasn't hurt us), or that Martin shouldn't have been played against South Africa.
if he was accuratefroggyboy86 said:Does anyone think that Stuart MacGill should be playing One Dayers for Australia? It seems a waste to have someone of his talent sitting on the sidelines so trashy spinners like Hogg can play.
Maybe Ponting will complain the pitch was too flat for entertaining cricket and they need fast, bouncy pitches that don't turn at all....sorry, excuse me, this is in Australia - I wonder what he will come up withJono said:I think there was some sarcasm in that comment, so people arguing whether the pitch is good or not, don't bother. It's obvious its a flat batsmen's pitch, JustTool was just trying to start people.

This is a tricky issue, partly because MacGill is so maligned as a player here in Australia (there are numerous reasons for this, mostly involving India, but I don't subscribe to the idea that he's useless, as many seem to).froggyboy86 said:Does anyone think that Stuart MacGill should be playing One Dayers for Australia? I agree.Slow Love™ said:This is a tricky issue, partly because MacGill is so maligned as a player here in Australia (there are numerous reasons for this, mostly involving India, but I don't subscribe to the idea that he's useless, as many seem to).
He's been in some pretty good ING form. I'd certainly consider him, even if he's going for a few runs. He hasn't played many ODI's (and didn't do that much wrong in the 3 he played) but he has a very impressive strike rate in domestic one-day cricket.

i've got a feeling the aussie selectors may think it's too late to re-introduce macgill to the one day gameMister Wright said:His 30 overs in One Day Internationals have gone for 105 at 3.5 runs per over, and he has 6 wickets @17.50, which I think is reason for another go.
While he may be expensive in list A matches, a strike rate of 26.8 & an average of 21.86 is very acceptable. I feel he should be given more chances at the International arena.
Sadly, he can't bat or field, which'll scupper his chances in ODIs.bryce said:i've got a feeling the aussie selectors may think it's too late to re-introduce macgill to the one day game

His strike rate is absolutely amazing, he always gets 2-4 wickets a game.Slow Love™ said:This is a tricky issue, partly because MacGill is so maligned as a player here in Australia (there are numerous reasons for this, mostly involving India, but I don't subscribe to the idea that he's useless, as many seem to).

Is it possible though that he's just happy to be there!? Not something to be annoyed about surely.Craig said:Over all a great match I felt in the first ODI, and as much as I wanted New Zealand to win, I never gave them much chance and then until Kasprowicz conceded 22 runs off the 48th over, I got the feeling we could not lose.
I am really happy to see Daniel Vettori regain his confidence and bowl well, and Chris Cairns back at his best is great. Ian bulter bowled well, and Sinclair's catch is top-3 best I have seen. Brett Lee looked impressive, and I hope somebody knocks Michael Clarke's smirk off his face, it is starting to annoy me.
I reckon his response will be slightly more varied than your consistent line of attack, and that emoticon you insist on reproducing.JustTool said:Maybe Ponting will complain the pitch was too flat for entertaining cricket and they need fast, bouncy pitches that don't turn at all....sorry, excuse me, this is in Australia - I wonder what he will come up with
