Justin Langer and Matt Hayden will both score centuries - bet your house on it.

The gist of it was that, if you add up the Test batting averages of NZ (no. 1 -11), they come to about 357. If you do the same for Aust, they come to about 400. Granted, this does not take into account the respective bowling line-ups of the two sides. However, taken at face value, it does provide some sort of hope that the series may well be a contest.

yeah i know, the new zealand averages will be just that(face value) against the best bowling attack in world.

Comments by Warne in the media that he considers himself to be an all-rounder against NZ are classic :)

We may have lost that last test in Perth because of dodgy umpriring, but at least we got him out for 99!

I was sort of trying to perform a community service- attempting to convince people - including myself - that tomorrow will be something other than a first-rate mauling!

don't worry about it, us new zealanders don't really have expectations, we are just full of nothing but hope !

Considering that New Zealand has the population of metropolitan Sydney, they are a formidable force. Just imagine if we Aussies only had that section of Australia to choose from. Least we wouldn't have to put up with Boof! :D

We've got 4 or 5 batsmen averaging over 35 which I wouldn't call that bad to be honest.
I wouldn't call it that good in the current climate.

You need at least a couple of 45s in there IMO.

Well it looks like that McMillan is definately playing and Marshall will be left out. Bracewell has said that blooding a player against Australia will be unfair, and that McMillan's experience would do the side good.
so what was the bloody point of having the same squad as the BAN series & then bringing Macca in ????????

I wish NZ would drop Sinclair he has had a couple of good games. Thats all.

McMillan should take his place And have Fleming/Richardson Opening with McMillan,Styris then Astle. As the top order. McMillan is a fighter.
Macca at #3 - hell no................

as for him being a fighter - maybe a few yesterdays ago he was, but now IMO he's more of a poser at the crease - all bluff & ******** these days with too many improvised strokes or just plain dumb shot selection & away his wicket for bugger all................

hell even Marshall did better in BAN when he was clearly uncomfortable v spin etc - still managed to post a half ton................

Yeah, man. Blooding Vincent against Australia - we sure regret that, right? :p

EDIT: And I believe Marshall is likely to get his debut century in an international so long as he gets played enough. The excuse of him not having an FC 100 is a bit much for me - he's arguably currently our best OD batsman and he hasn't been a let-down in tests so far, he's just not had many chances to really show us what he's got. He averages higher in ODI's than List-A OD's as it is.
