*Official* New Zealand in Australia 2022

Quietly building - going at exactly 4 per over very reminiscent of a nineties ODI.

Is that competitive on this pitch? Very hard to say, though I keep recalling how in the T20I world cup Australia's batting just kept attacking, even when a wicket fell, and demolished what looked a tricky chase.
Aus have Maxwell, Stoinis, Carey and Green from nos 5 to 8 so a par score will take some defending. Though the surface may not necessarily be to their liking?

Interesting that the Aussie opening bowlers have only bowled 4 overs each. Have to keep scoring when they come back (Starc will probably take a hat trick though).

Scoring has dropped once again with that wicket, allows Aus to bring back Starc and Hazlewood for short attacking spells.

They just made about 10 runs between them against a club standard side a few days ago

A lot will depend on how NZ's slow bowlers go on a pitch that holds up a bit. Santner in better form, though Australia love bashing part-time offspinners like M Bracewell.

Boult and Neesham pace-off important too, not thinking it's a Henry wicket.

What an absolute waste Kane. Played right into Australia's hands there.
Eh, they'd had some success hitting over the top and needed to keep the scoring rate up, I don't mind that he played the shot.

Big test for the middle and lower order now.

KW and Conway have been disappointing since the England tour, too often getting to 30-40 and giving it away when a big score from either would generally keep NZ safe.
