Julian and Smith doing about a million times better job of analysing that dismissal, they should do some training sessions for Gilchrest and Waugh.
To be fair, they've had a lot more time to dissect it and react less emotionally. Waugh and Gilchrist wanted it to be out and were blinded.

The small spike on snicko doesn't even coincide with the ball passing the glove

Gilchrist and Waugh were not just partisan but surprisingly immature in the way they treated it. I don't think it will have any bearing on the outcome but after the Nigel Llong debacle last time I was hoping there wouldn't be any more third umpiring shockers.

I think you're giving them way too much credit. You never expect commentators to be 100% neutral, that would be boring, but that such an obviously dodgy decision.

Was out at an Xmas thing, so wadidImiss?

Gee Santner, awful shot.

Well we get one more bat and need to see a lot better from the openers, plus Nicholls whose dismissal last night was the second most crucial of this innings imo.

After one spell each from the quicks, I'd just be handing the ball to Santner and Raval for the rest of the innings. There's no point risking injury, this game is a write off.

How do you know hazelwood would have been injured on the first day

Face it, NZ are getting dicked right now. Blaming the toss is laughable
NZ have had a bit of bad luck but Australia have had a couple of pieces of misfortune too actually.

However, the toss was absolutely enormous - it always looked like being so prior to the match, and it was.

You rarely see a bits and pieces leggie since it's a such a difficult craft but wow Marnus. If he can keep this up he'll be a very, very valuable cricketer.
