Agree with Athers re Craig. The biggest concern is that he gets carted for 4-5 an over & struggles to bowl more than 2 deliveries an over in good areas.

It's quite tough from a viewing perspective to see the damn ball. Hopefully the international coverage will enhance it.
I found that my eyes adjusted to it eventually.

EDIT: While I was watching whole days of play that is; not just the length of that video.

Damn I hope this is a good game and everything runs smoothly. Day/night test cricket is such an awesome idea, and would make going to a game for more than a couple of days so easy. Plus when you get home from work, even if you have errands to run, you should still catch at least a session rather than have to ask CW what happened.

Dear bowlers on both teams (Starc and Southee for some one off spells you get excluded here) - turn the **** up with at least a decent pitch map.

Lots of catches in front of the wicket in the pink ball cricket from Adelaide.
Someone who knows Adelaide better than me to correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that's unique to the pink ball. Adelaide's one of those grounds where you want to get funky with field placings in front of the batsmen because the bowlers get absolutely **** all out of the deck.

It's a drop-in now so more like to stop on you so yeah, you'd imagine more catches in front of the wicket.

It was only Cribbage getting Hesson geoblocked out of the vault and incapable of seeing Wagner's wickets in recent weeks that denied him a run in Perth, itbt.
Damn you, Cribbage! You blew it up! Damn you all to hell!

I'm buggered if I know why Hesson keeps picking Bracewell over Wagner as the third seamer.
In the last 3 years Wagner has played 14 tests and Bracewell 9, Wagner has 54 wickets at an avg. of 33, Bracewell has 18 wickets at 56. Wagner even has a slightly better economy rate of 3.40 to Bracewell's 3.47.

The news about Boult's back makes me very nervous. Has he had any scans done? Given he had a near brush with a stress fracture earlier this year it seems crazy to ask him to "just bowl through it".

Yeah, I was for bringing Bracewell in for Wagner at the start of the year, and I stand by that on the basis that Wagner was bowling seriously floaty nonsense at the time. But there's no doubt in my mind that - on average - Wagner is a better bowler than Doug and brings more value to the side with his stamina and canny use of the crease. He's the only other bowler in New Zealand besides Southee and Boult who I feel could be relied on to change the momentum of a game when nothing's happening.

They do have mouths but they don't let us see them. They do talk with each other all the time in the box like in Toy Story

The big question is how the pink balls have played at various grade cricket net sessions around Australia, even though they don't seem to be commercially available yet. Come on Jack, don't keep us waiting, I know you've managed to snaffle some.

Anyone else more excited for the commentary than the actual cricket? Sure, the cricket might be of some interest but not even WINVIZ will be able to predict what happens this Friday in the commentary box.

At the very least I am expecting calls for a ~funky~ declaration to start during the middle session of day (night?) one and will be very disappointed if the famous CH9 Declaration Interrogation Team™ isn't in full swing by then. Who cares if either of the captains are batting at the time? Get a mic on them and badger them about declaration prospects, this is pink ball cricket!

Obviously we've come to expect this type of excellent coverage in recent years, but I think they are really going to treat us for the Adelaide Test. Perhaps they could invite the whole Marsh family who featured heavily in the WACA broadcast into the commentary box? One can only hope. Stranger things have happened, we'll just have to wait and see.

Read this on Cricinfo

In these last four years, Australia have a 14-1 win-loss record in Tests at home, with a batting average of 50.34; in England and in Asia during the same period, they have a win-loss record of 2-12, and a batting average of 29.06

Not a particularly surprising stat, but still striking nonetheless.

Seems a bit unfair to deliberately exclude their wins in SA and WI then make it look like solely a home v away thing

looks like Skinny Pete is in line to make his debut. Don't necessarily mind that as long as Pattinson plays. Time for Hazlewood to probably get a bit of break
So a possible reunion of the attack which NZ was up against last time at Brisbane and Hobart 2011 - Pattinson, Siddle, Starc and Lyon.

If Pattinson's fit then that's the lineup I'd least like to see from a NZ perspective.

Yeah Hazlewood is no doubt a good bowler, but he seems less likely to rip through us like Pattinson has done in the past..
