I really did enjoy this test though. Outstanding stuff from the curator. Not his fault most of the batsmen perform like they were playing u14s out in the bush

Oh and why the **** does cricinfo have a picture of Warner celebrating? It was a great innings, but Bracewell would be far more fitting.

I know its hard to criticise the guy, and I love Warner so am happy he did so well, but should he have eventually started shielding Lyon near the end like Laxman did to Ojha when there were only single figures required for the win?

I can see arguments both ways. Lyon was playing them well, whereas Ojha had ctold Laxman he was struggling against Mitch Johnson (I believe), so Laxman changed tactic. Lyon obviously didn't say as such.

Perhaps, but then the counter is that it was the method that got them 30-odd runs before that, why change?

In the end though, he's an opener playing his 2nd Test and 11th FC match.

Below are the batting averages for Australian batsmen from Sri Lankan to South African to the just completed New Zealand test series.

Hughes 27.69
Warner 76.50
Watson 20.22
Marsh 56.80
Khawaja 29.28
Ponting 26.63
Clarke 45.08
Hussey 45.50
Haddin 22.16

Watson is averaging 16.76 with the ball over his last two test series.
The players highlighted in 'red bold' are under pressure to retain there spots.

One last thing, and the most important.

I was wrong.

Chris Martin, you bowled like a champ. Have a good summer mate.
Kudos sir. I was wondering if people would put their hand up. I don't like to think of myself as a CH9-esque cheerleader for my team but I always backed him to do the business.

I am just having my first post NZ Test win over Australia beer. To say it tastes sweet would be doing it no justice at all.

Lol @ your Mark Watson love, isn't he supposed to be lame?
He's a ****ing **** ****. Here's a quote from the other night;

"I would get rid of McCullum, get rid of Ryder, ask Taylor some serious questions then I would look at Vettori."

Densest ****.

Hopefully this is evidence that sometimes it's fun when the bowlers get a bit of assistance thrown their way as well. Those who were prepared to work hard for runs got them.
