Wonder if any posters on here have played with/against that Herrick bloke (vic_orthdox...)

Personally, was glad to see him getting spanked around the park; because a) he looks like a prize ****; b) I really don't like the way Wellington brought in a mercenary like that; and c) we often here about how Australian club cricket is as good as NZ first-class, and so seeing a Victoria 2nd XI player getting belted helps rubbish that theory.
Yeah Jack would know a bit about him I'm sure. I'll bring it up in the Aussie domestic thread.

Sounding bitter :p

When are you going to get that debut for Wellington?

That's true - it's a shame that my dominant memory of him is the repeated clatter of ball slamming into helmet as he ducked into bouncer after bouncer from Brett Lee.
Really? My most dominant memory of him was the repeated clatter of ball slamming into stumps as he wafted at ball after ball from Dale Steyn. Each to their own I suppose.
Interesting... what keeps me awake at night is when Papps walked on to the field for the first test v South Africa and I noticed a real live rat masquerading as a hairdo hanging out the back of his cap. No-one with a haircut like that can be a successful cricketer. It's just not possible.

Grrr...**** off Wagner.

Mathieson still getting the bizash even after getting a couple of wickets.

Yeah, Panda Mathieson will be smarting after today!
Guess we'll find out about his ability to come back and perform after a bad start now.
He's come back and taken the first two wickets of the morning, however, was carted for 12 and seven in those two overs. But hey - wickets are wickets.

Without knowing where he's pitching or what speed he's bowling due to the poor coverage on the radio, I have no clue how he's going, a bit frustrating really cause I'd love to see if he's cranking the ball through at full pace or not.

Couple of handy wickets to take though in your first game, Nicol and Brownlie. I hope Marshall uses him at the end to destroy the tail, A: To get the kids confidence up and B: To let him unleash on batsmen who aren't so capable of punishing his nervous mistakes.

Yeah, was about to post Mathieson has nabbed a few this morning.

Doug Bracewell finished with 4/44 from 19 overs. Good stuff. Auckland all out for 180.

But here comes Andre Adams. Has 2/18 from 6. Central 39/2 with Ingram and Sinclair at the crease.

Nice to see Tom Latham having a decent start to his FC career. From what I saw of him at the U19 world cup, he looked a lot more stylish than his father. Not that that would be hard mind.

Otago certainly have a better attack than Wellington and CD at the moment, with all the latter two's availabilities. Wagner's in awesome form, McSkimming's a very fine bowler at this level, Wells is gun, Beard is the best spinner left in the country and Butler isn't **** either. Athlai under-rating them a bit IMO.
Text actually said "full-strength attack"

Plays for Melville in Hamilton, worked hard on batting in the last few years to make the grade but all through age groups he was a spin bowler who could bat a bit. Generally quite consistent although not a massive turner of a cricket ball. Coincidentally used to live with BJ Watling

Points for Wellington. OMG

Never thought I'd see the day, and against a far better batting lineup. Good to see Pollard finally get his chance, should have been playing since the start of the season.
