Congrats - I'm guessing you going into that Aoraki course? You'll love it. Let me know if you need anything - I still have one or two contacts there.Does anyone know much about cricket in South Canterbury? I ask because I'm off to NZ on Sept. 13th and I will be spending a fair deal of time in Timaru (looks like I'll be doing a uni course there). I play village cricket in England, in the lower echelons of the Devon Cricket League, so I'd like competitive games but at not too high a standard. Any knowledge of clubs and stuff? I know there are a few in Timaru but which would suit me best? Appreciate any help.
Fantastic.New Zealand Cricket and Ford Motor Company of New Zealand have formed a new commercial partnership which links the global car manufacturer with all levels of the game in New Zealand.
Of course with all this extra cricket extending the season there will probably be more matches rained out, but whatever. More cricket = good.New Zealand Cricket has announced an expanded season with more matches in each of the three main tournaments - the four-day State Championships, the one-day State Shield, and the Twenty20 tournament.
The Championships will have each of the six teams playing the other twice, on a home-and-away basis, with the side topping the table after the league phase winning. Unlike previous seasons there will be no final.
Yeah, AWTA strongly. Such an odd move.I'm a bit disappointed that they've cut the Championship final.
Personally I think it could be the best thing to have happened for Williamson. If he had of gone out and scored 2-3 100's or a few big scores (80+) it would pretty much mean he'd be in the team some time this summer.ND FTW
Looking forward to following Kane this year. Pity he sucked for the A side he must have been overwhelmed. Will also be following Watling after his good performances for the A team.
Yeah, good to here that the Championship is being extended, but like the others have said, it seems an odd move to get rid of the final. Also, structure of domestic season announced. Basically sounds like more cricket for all - I liked the bit about increasing the state championship.

Sky's only showing the final againYeah, good to here that the Championship is being extended, but like the others have said, it seems an odd move to get rid of the final.
Personally, am hoping Sky show a few more one-dayers than they did last year. IIRC, we only got the final on tv, whereas a few years ago we got a couple of the round games as well. Think I'll lay the blame for that on the advent of 20/20.
