***Official New Zealand Domestic Season Thread 2009/10

After all the talk about Peter Ingram I can now see why he hasn't had the call up to the Black Caps, that man is a FLAT TRACK BULLY. I spent the whole time he was batting watching his foot work, and it is non-existent, He is a modern more powerful version of Chris Nevin.
Seems to score everywhere though. Odd thing for a flat track bully to do.

Seen McIntosh move his feet lately?

*raises eyebrow*

Isn't he 19? Pretty early to write him off. Any reason why injury will be the story of his career?
Because as NZ Guy said he's talented :) Nah he's actually had quite a few injuries pretty early in his career. He's already had one major shoulder surgery and now he's injured it again, so far all signs are pointing towards him being injury prone.

Very promising to see Kane Williamson back up his century before Christmas with another top innings today - after he was seemingly out of form for the beginning of the season. Also encouraging to hear of Guptill's immense innings which should give him a huge amount of confidence.

Canterbury 222/1 after 33 overs

Otago's big buy of the year has gone for 55 runs of only four overs haha, good warm-up for 20/20 cricket I spose. Rob Nicol moving towards his 100, currently 93*.

Now 307-2 after 41. I'm lazy and at work so can't be bothered trying to find out myself - does anyone know what the record score in NZ domestic cricket is?

376-3 by CD in 1997. Anyone got any idea what the fastest 50 is? Would Shanan Stewart's off 19 balls come close?

Figured it out - Stewart tied Peter McGlashan from Feb 2008.

Scorecard on Blackcaps.co.nz isn't working and cricinfo one is not up yet - where are you guys getting the scores from?

Shannon Stewart is a must for the New Zealand one day team IMO. He's been putting up fantastic numbers for a good 2/3 years now.

Neil Broom racking up another score at three for Otago, good to see tbh. If Ryder isn't fit for the Bangladesh one day series Broom should get the number three position IMO.

He hit 5 consecutive sixes off a Cumming over I think (first ball dot).

Crazy stuff!
He seems to be one of those hitters who once he gets going he doesn't stop, something we need at the moment IMO.

Neil Broom currently 88*, hoping he makes his first one day 100 here.

Broom unleashing hell upon the Canterbury bowlers at the moment, 11 fours and five sixes so far. Still, Otago need 141 of 10 overs.

Okay, make that seven.
