Bit strange to name a trophy after a mediocre English bowler.

Big fan huh?Unlucky for Cam Merchant yesterday also, really pulling for the guy this year (Except for when he plays ND of course).
Clarke does bowl though doesn't he?Nick Beard and George Worker were the spinners in that team. Tamati Clarke is a middle order batsman, and he plays for ND.
That is a bit wierd but I'm not complaining.Anurag Verma has been called up into the Northern Districts team for the CD game. It will be interesting to see how he goes as I've played against him a few times, wondering how quick he is these days.
Jono Boult was also called up. Surprised neither Bruce Martin or Te Ahu Davis got the call tbh.
James Marshall (Captain)
Graeme Aldridge
Jono Boult
Trent Boult
Anton Devcich
Peter McGlashan
Michael Parlane
Bradley Scott
Kane Williamson
Brad Wilson
Anurag Verma
Joseph Yovich
Interesting selections from my view too given both Martin and Davis are contracted.Anurag Verma has been called up into the Northern Districts team for the CD game. It will be interesting to see how he goes as I've played against him a few times, wondering how quick he is these days.

Pretty interesting article. Hopefuly the injury problems stay away.
Good thing CD have the 'Pillars of Strength'Waikato Times said:"We've brought in Anurag Verma and Jono Boult as bowling all-rounders," said Bradburn.
"The plan has always been to have as many guys as possible to step sideways into the team and I think we have three or four guys capable of performing at this level.
"We've still got Bruce Martin and Te Ahu Davis from our contracted players who we haven't selected yet but they will play a big part during the Plunket Shield."
Waikato Times said:"We've identified four guys as their pillars of strength – Mathew Sinclair, Peter Ingram, Ross Taylor and Jamie How," Bradburn said.
Just before he was selected for the New Zealand under 19 world cup team was the last time I played him, so just under two years ago.Interesting selections from my view too given both Martin and Davis are contracted.
How long ago did you play against Verma, Howsie?
Williamson is a slip/gully fieldsmen usually.McGlashan took 6 catches for ND. Williamson took 2... does he field at slip? Eight catches behind the wicket would probably suggest the pitch doing a fair bit.
He got multiple starts last season (20's and 30's) without pushing on. To me that suggests he's good enough, just needs to learn how to convert starts. Reckon they should stick with him, he's young and he's only going to get better. And how long do CD persist with Worker, he's never really done anything at this level.
Given Mathew Sinclair didn't score a century you can probably assume the wickets taken were due to the nature of the pitch. ND already two down so looking like a difficult track. All out for under 100? Tell me this is due to the conditions or some brilliant bowling. Reassure me it's not technically inept batsmen getting out here?
