Pretty sure there's a few English FC players over here at the moment. Not 100% sure, but I thought Matt Salisbury was playing for Petone and Tom Moore played for them last season I think.

Probably don't meet the definition of decent, mind.

Yes it is Essex's Matt Salisbury. I think Borthwick will do well if Wellington get him in the Plunket side - and that they'd be pretty silly not to.

Edgar already talking about getting Craigchopa back into nick for the next PS round though, so that'd be the sole PS import slot gone.

Wellington Firebirds batsman Craig Cachopa will return to form - Bruce Edgar | Stuff.co.nz

The Wellington Firebirds coach signed the 23-year-old as his import until the end of the 50-over competition in January, but he has failed to live up to that billing in the T20 competition in which he has averaged 13.16 in six games.

England international Scott Borthwick was brought in to replace him on Wednesday, but will play for his employers, Johnsonville, on the weekend and, at this stage, is not in the frame to play before Cachopa's contract runs out.

Edgar said Cachopa would be back for the team's four-day match against Otago on December 17 and the 50-over competition, starting 10 days later.

Can some explain what the Cant Kings vs Syd Thunders T20 is about? How close is this to Thunders top XI (has Blizzard, Watson and M Hussey but I don't follow BBL so no idea who the other are)?

Yeah that looks well short of their best side. There's no Sandhu, Khawaja, Jake Doran, Clint McKay, Rohrer, lots of others.

Germon says the visit reflects a new cooperative relationship between the Kings and Thunder. So once again Canty have been looking at ND admiringly in recent seasons and are looking to imitate.

The red and blacks, oops I mean purple and yellows held on for the win – looks like Andy Ellis turned it around. Henry Nicholls continues to impress.

Haha. What is this about?
Mahela was asked by the comms if any younger players in the comp had made an impression on him. "The left-hander last week.....I'm not sure of his name, Kyle? He played really well to finish off that game under pressure".

Over and under on how many times we're going to hear 'confidence' and 'Martin Guptill' in the same sentence tonight?

Just slow down everyone..think about it...it's no longer confidence that is stopping this guy scoring Test runs. It's technique.

Mind you, pumping Devcich all over the place would give anyone a warm glow. Let's hope that happens for the good of the sport of cricket.

Mark O'Donnell has pretty much a 100% kiwi accent, couldn't hear any saffa in there.
