Yeah Santner will battle a prejudice against his dainty-looking action just not being international grade, imo. Not that Sodhi's action mechanics are golden.

I don't know what to believe, to be honest:

Cricket: Ryder declines chance to make Black Caps - Sport - NZ Herald News

Jesse Ryder's indicated he doesn't want to be part of the Black Cap's World Cup campaign.

Ryder's smashed 136 off 57 balls for Otago against Ireland at Lincoln, prompting calls for the controversial batsman to return to the national side.

However they've fallen on deaf ears with New Zealand Cricket confirming Ryder declined to play in the North South Twenty20 match and has also turned down an outside shot at playing in the upcoming Pakistan series.

That's in direct contradiction from what we've heard from Hesson and Ryder in the last couple of weeks.
Jesse Ryder's return not as simple as it sounds | Stuff.co.nz

From McCullum:
Do you want him back?

"Um... well, I think it's a tough question because I want people that are desperate to represent their country in the team. I've already said we won't compromise the environment because we represent our country and there's certain obligations which you need to uphold out of respect to the people who support this team...

The environment is the most important thing. The impact that distractions can have on the other players in the group can't go unnoticed. We've got to make sure that Jesse is really desperate to play for New Zealand and make sure that he fits within the group as well."
I think this basically shuts the door on any WC come back. McCullum's comments show that he doesn't want him back without a total attitude change. It ain't gonna happen in my lifetime.

It really is an ugly action in general with plenty that could go wrong with it but his release is quite good and he pivots really nicely. I'd be pretty surprised if he was ever a decent Test bowler but I'd have him straight in the ODI side after the World Cup.

No PS for Rutherford tomorrow; badly bruised hand.

The odds of Watling and Ronchi getting themselves onto the teamsheet in Abu Dhabi just get shorter and shorter. They're still about 100/1 though ftr.

Better ask Phlegm who I tip for this last match of the round. CD featuring Bracewell, Wheeler and Mathieson (no Small, no Milne), or Ryder to do his traditional Nelson Park/McLean Park thing, and effectively win a match on his own.

Nah went Stags. Remembered the delicious Howsie tears about the "dog track" last season, and Otago have very coddled, downhill skier batting generally.

Neesham scored 147 in the last meeting, but Otago still lost due to KNB's hat-trick and Rance surprising to the upside with 4/82. Rance is indeed ahead of Mathieson tomorrow, apparently.

What browser are you using? It's pretty easy in everything except Chrome; I think you'd have to install an extension in Chrome though.
