I'm certainly not Jesse's biggest fan, but this headline on stuff is disgustingly misleading and clearly designed to do no more than stir up controversy. Pathetic.

Jesse Ryder 'too busy' for Black Caps chance | Stuff.co.nz
It feels like a smear campaign led by people in NZC to discredit him, so that they can justify his non playing at world cup. There are senior players in that BC team who pick and chose which games they show up for.

He is busy but not too-busy his schedule for that week is:
26-29 October FC @ Napier
31 Oct Nth V Sth @ Hamilton
1 Nov T20 v ND @ Hamilton

Maybe he wants to just go out with his mates in HB instead.

Nah, the media has always had a liking for transparent attempts to dredge up scandal where none exists, especially for Ryder. This is just stand **** stuff journalism.

Seems more accurate that he is "too busy" for the North vs. South showmatch rather than any Black Caps chance?

it's an exhibition t20 match that means nothing and would disrupt his planning for the plunkett shield.

Athlai

Not Terrible
Yeah, not really the biggest issue to make yourself unavailable for an exhibition match. I doubt Ryder was the only one either. Bahnzy is 100% correct, the media loves to report Jesse scandal, whether real or manufactured.

Amazed to see Aldridge playing again and with two wickets. ND lucky to have someone like him to turn to when their younger first-choice bowlers aren't available.

Yeah and on merit he probably still is more first-choice than Kuggle (and Goodin? What does he bowl?); I just thought Aldridge was semi-retired.

I don't know what to believe, to be honest:

Cricket: Ryder declines chance to make Black Caps - Sport - NZ Herald News

Jesse Ryder's indicated he doesn't want to be part of the Black Cap's World Cup campaign.

Ryder's smashed 136 off 57 balls for Otago against Ireland at Lincoln, prompting calls for the controversial batsman to return to the national side.

However they've fallen on deaf ears with New Zealand Cricket confirming Ryder declined to play in the North South Twenty20 match and has also turned down an outside shot at playing in the upcoming Pakistan series.

That's in direct contradiction from what we've heard from Hesson and Ryder in the last couple of weeks.

I think Hesson's talk was about a New Zealand XI squad being named at the end of the month to play in the UAE, not the proper LO squad.

Heard Veitch saying last weekend (after an interview with McCullum), he's hearing from his various sources that Ryder's nowhere near a return.

ND spin duo now making Cobham Oval wicket look like a bit of a minefield. Santner and Sodhi getting good bounce

Kitchen gone now too! Been a much better few overs from @ish_sodhi and he gets his reward, Akl 149-6, Kitchen made 53 from 114 balls

Mitch Santner rips one past Colin de Grandhomme for a duck - 2 big wickets now for the allrounder and Akl are 149-5 v @ndcaknights

Santner gets @manuz05 with one that beats him and traps him in front - huge wicket
