***Official*** New Zealand Domestic Season 2014/15

Surprised that McClure not playing for Canterbury yet, but Leo Carter is.

Good stats in the A tourney (better than Carter, who also did ok) and always looked the better player from all the Kippax uploads of the NZ U19s last year.

Will have to look up Kippax's video. I had also wondered why McClure hadn't had a go yet.

So you're saying Leo joins Robbie O'Donnell as another son of a batting coach we've got playing domestic cricket, somewhat contentiously. :p

I'd agree with Canterbury that Carter was probably a better ballstriker than McClure btw. McClure had a bit more fight to him, which may not be what they want.

So there were five guys living up to their billing at the end of that match. CdG being a bit too slow-witted to get the most out of his talent, Santner being supercilious, Mills being ****sure of himself and failing to do the math under pressure (at 7 needed off 8), Mighty Quinn surprising his team's supporters, Verma being a hard luck story.
Wow, so much village cricket in one clip.

No hard luck for Anurag, very good luck his C&B wasn't a 2 down the ground and if you can't hit the hole, and a ferret (in after the bunnies) hits you for four, well you stink.

Well, not quite. I was of the assumption that Rob O'Donnell is quite good (although underwhelmed in UAE in last U19 world cup) but impressed as a 17 year old at the previous World Cup.

But there is a shed load of depth in Auckland.

Need a North Harbour if we could afford it ......

There's Bob Carter's handiwork these days. Leo used to be a bit more brutal than that I think.

Yeah the Auckland posters who drop in here occasionally aren't overly convinced about O'Donnell's merits, other than the fact he has a good brain on him and a good pull shot. Did score that 80 against India tbf.

Ha! I was going to say Carter didn't look very impressive for the U19s, but looking at this vid I am surprised to see him batting left handed..... Must have been someone else I had in my head.

I like Howsie and this might be a bit of low hanging fruit, but gee the justice of Lord Mills (his correct name, not old man river) getting his side home is so sweet.
Nah, that game won't count. It'll be probably claimed that team he was bowling at was horse****

Oh wait...

That CdG runout looked dodgy...it also looked like he had been practicing running between the wickets with the blackcaps

Haha this is why it's perfect! Either he denegrates Lord Mills' contribution and his side as a result, or he begrudgingly admits Kyle is by no means past it and for all intents and purposes was the difference between the two sides today. Big call for a guy who took 1-for and scored 18, but without him Auckland would've chased 350 unsuccessfully.

On Robbie O'Donnell, I'm not one of the Auckland posters who isn't convinced. I am convinced. That's as much to do with his temperament as anything.

Just looked up Canterbury's batting averages for the Ford Trophy. Some of their Hira and Diamanti icing needs replacing with some McClure cake.

Plus they're coming 5th. Although if 4 go through they are still right in it.

At last Harden got some runs for CD under 19's. G Phillips continues to dominate that tournament. His younger brother also sounds like a big hitter, 111 not out opening for Akl under 17's against the Invitational XI off 85 balls. Five sixes.

Wellington might finally be heading for a win, and doing it without Elliott, Franlkin or Ronchi.

I've seen Auckland repeatedly struggle against Dougeh and Small at EPOO, so not a particularly bad loss for them today imo. Pukekura Park still suits Craigchopa/Munro/CdG, so it's all good.
