***Official*** New Zealand Domestic Season 2014/15

GUN.

No need to rotate strike when you're so obviously better than the grade you're playing in.
Yeah apparently he's a back foot gun, and down at the A's one those decks with the true bounce was pulling and cutting like its nothing. Jonny Bassett-Graham who is a close friend of mine was saying he played two cut shots over point for 6, that were HUGE hits. Interestingly enough JBG did say it would be interesting to see how he would fair would consistent red ball bowling, but he's obviously tiers ahead of his peers atm.

Fisher swings the ball VERY late, been playing Prems cricket at Uni since he was about 16 and having faced him with the new ball he definitely looked to have the goods, no surprise to see what he is achieving tbh.

As far as Anurag Verma is concerned, he was a never a prodigy in the sense of KW and Southee, in fact Anurag never really put together mindblowing performances nor consistent outputs that were far better than his peers to even get the hype that kidna went his way. As someone who played with and against the generation we now see peaking (I'm 24 btw, the Auckland Secondary Schools XI I was in is featured Raval, Brad Cachopa, Andy De Boorder, and Southee and we played against Canterbury who has a certain see ball, hit ball guy named Corey Anderson), Tim and Andy were head and shoulders above the rest, with respect to Jeet. Southee used to DOMINATE first XI, we all knew he was destined for greatness, it as only a matter of when, and even moreso in the case of KW. I played a bit against him and used to billet with him and trust me, its no surprise that he is where he is now, apart form talent, that work ethic you so famously hear of now, was evident back then. He would literally have the processes of a first class player at age 15/16, quite remarkable tbh. I stil remember playing for Auckland 17's and ND were playing next to us losing wickets regularly but KW was still in. ND bowled out for 200-odd with Kane 140*. Southee also got a double hat-trick in first XI and took 5 fers every other week.

De Boorder, as Steve has said before is just a guy who is both intelligent, applies himself to everything he does AND is an A+ guy. You could always tell who the genuine guys of class were, and it was the norm to see accomplished front foot plodders, but guys like Andy and Kane could punch through the covers on the up for fun, and play that flick off the hip to good ball fairly risk free and consistently. Im a bit of an Andy fanboy simply because he is THAT good IMO.

We're looking for someone to last just 50 balls against the best attack ND can field, these days.

He's putting McCullum to sleep with that effort though, so he's clearly persona non grata in agribusiness circles. Would've been unlikely to tame the England Lions like Rutherford will try to again this May.

Pods Hood is definitely the CEO to lure out the nostalgia for a leaner and greener youth buried deep within Ryder, maybe rent a house for him with Dougeh next door. It would be great.

Hey, it worked beyond all our expectations this season....

How good are the channels Arnel's bowling there? Always felt he was a bit unlucky with his international career, in that every time we picked him it was on a ****ing road. If we'd had pitches 4-5 years ago like we've been having recently he'd have quite a respectable test record IMO.

Jimmy Baker's action has improved so much since then. Probably put on 5kph or so.

If I'm the domestic nuffbag I think I am, I reckon that knock was first game of the Plunket season around 2012-13, in Whangarei on an absolute minefield. And his 60 odd was the difference between the sides.

My pick is 2011-12, it was his last score of any substance iirc. He fell away quite badly that season before leaving FC cricket.

Nicholls has the gloves for the Cantabs. Has that ever happened before?
Kept in last 3 T20 games this season, I think due to Fletcher injury. IIRC Canty coach made a comment before start of Ford Trophy that they wanted to use a specialist keeper (Anderson) due to the variety of bowlers [pace, left arm spin, leg spin, offspin if McConchie in playing XI], but hasn't been the case, Nichols keeping for 3rd time from 7 games.

Otago's really not enjoying that Craig for Beard swap. Non-cheats never prosper.

Wagner continuing the form I saw last round, seems to have suddenly fixed himself. Needs one wicket to notch personal bests with bat and ball in the same game.

I like Howsie and this might be a bit of low hanging fruit, but gee the justice of Lord Mills (his correct name, not old man river) getting his side home is so sweet.

So there were five guys living up to their billing at the end of that match. CdG being a bit too slow-witted to get the most out of his talent, Santner being supercilious, Mills being ****sure of himself and failing to do the math under pressure (at 7 needed off 8), Mighty Quinn surprising his team's supporters, Verma being a hard luck story.

Phillips and leopard continuing to dominate their respective age group tournaments.

Massive Massive score by Nicholls at the basin. He and worker might be eyeing higher honours?

Surprised that McClure not playing for Canterbury yet, but Leo Carter is.

Good stats in the A tourney (better than Carter, who also did ok) and always looked the better player from all the Kippax uploads of the NZ U19s last year.
