Before that, they had an English plodder in Adam Wheater, another import in Pete McFashion..and if we want to get really funky we can say BJ is a Japie. Any danger of developing a gloveman in a catchment area that runs from Cape Reinga to Taupo? Just one?

Not sure what to make of Small, aside from the injury issues that have prevented him from playing so frequently. When I first saw video of him I thought he was very similar to Bracewell, with an easy, strong side-on action and natural outswing. It's changed now and is a decidedly more mixed action (and possibly more injury risk), but he's still getting some movement and getting results. Doesn't have the obvious natural attributes of some of the others around i.e. height, pace, big swing so I'm not sure which direction his bowling will go in.

Not forgetting as well they pilfered Parore, one of Hopkins' many stops was there, etc. Only gloveman they've produced of any note (conveniently ignoring Robbie Hart) is Barry Young, and he eventually moved to slip/Auckland.
