Yeah a couple of seasons ago CD were all 'hi, we have 4 highly promising young fast bowlers'.

So predictably now they have none. Though one of those is playing for NZ.

Reckon Small is the most promising of those remaining. Saw some clips of FC wickets on blackcaps website and picked them up by bowling a mixture of outswingers and straighter ones. Decent pace. That is really all you need - fairly similar approach to Doug Bracewell actually.

I have just watched Gillespie's 6-for v Canterbury. That is a top quality fast bowler's 6-for including 2 x cartwheeling stumps and a fending off an at-the-throat bouncer.

Daniel Wightman - Called up for CD v Otago last week, whilst Tarun Nethula's with the BC's.
Not sure how much he's spinning it in these games (i.e how attacking), but I know he gives it plenty of air and maximises the enticing loopage :-)
