Not remotely shocking. He's in the phase as a veteran where he is desperately chasing a ring. Maybe a few years back it was in the realm of possibility, but it's not even close to happening with the current group in Miami.

Hope he falls somewhere good for his goals, like OKC. He's one of my favorite players in the whole league.

Conversely, you can say that teams that had his clearly championship winning levels of capability at his disposal haven't put what he needs around him to succeed. Case in point the recent iterations of the Heat getting worse over time.

Jimmy's end of the bargain is that he absolutley lights it up during the playoffs and gives you a great chance. But he needs a team that can:
A) get you to the playoffs
B) not be so overmatched that outcomes against the very elite teams aren't a foregone conclusion

Miami organization hasn't really done that.

Heat gave him two shots at a title in his time there (or vice versa).

The Clippers are down a veteran this year.
