What happened, DD?

<quack> Nothing, LE - just the funniest dismissal you'll ever see in your life.

Not.... His most regal and exulted left-handedness?

<quack> Not any more.

What happened, DD?

<quack> Picture Blondin, on a tightrope, crossing the Niagara Falls - only he's not carrying a MAN on his shoulders but a NATION

Got it - then what?

<quack> He's on a bicycle

And?

<quack> He's got one of those balancing sticks - those big long poles - right across his chest

Yes?

<quack> He can make it easy - only...

Only what?

<quack> There's another tightrope walker coming in the other direction - Bob - complete with bike, shoulder-bloke and balancing stick-thingy only...

Only what (again)?

<quack> Only one rope.

THAT good.

Shame Kaif didnt walk like Solanki
mmm..well on the replay it was OUT (off the glove, and a hint of back of the bat as well)...in an ideal world he would have walked, but I dont blame him for not going..I think it rattled him a bit though

India have nothing but their pathetic excuse of a fast bowling attack to blame.
Despite having a good (yet, out of form) batting lineup, you cannot expect the batsmen to save the day after conceeding 300 all the time.

Something needs to be done about the fast bowling, as it is getting ridiculous and fast.

Flintoff = My NEW Favorite #1

Words cannot describe the selflessness and dedication of this man. From being a regularly unfit mediocre bits-and-pieces player, he's matured into arguably the best all-rounder in the world, at least ATM.

well done harbhajan 14 runs in 10 overs in odi is tough to do, same for giles using the pitch well. Also like i said earlier, Kaif when given enough overs to play will score and he did, only the rest of the team failed again. He's perfect fit of # 3, or #4 as he is someone who knows the value of taking singles. I hope Eng make it 3-0 and make IND's wounds deep like a sharpnel, just to serve as reminder.

Where's my good friend Mr. chicane? I think he was of the opinion, come September, and India would be the best side in ODI cricket, having overtaken Australia. Or was it September 2007?

Why is he still in the team?

England 148-4, Flintoff playing an un-Flintoff innings of 26* off 50 balls.
Because his mind just made england win the trophy

At the moment, 'arguably' doesn't come into it, although 'most effective' is probably a more apt description.

Flintoff in world cricket is the man 'most likely to' - as in most likely to get you a wicket when you need it the most, that vital catch, the run-out and of course batting-wise, to rip the head off any attack and spit down the neck-hole.

I have never EVER witnessed such an improvement from an England all-rounder in a single year in the almost 40 years I have watched and studied the game. He wears the 'Botham' mantle comfortably, but with humour and grace too.

We all knew that he had massive ability - but the way he has channelled that skill over the last 12 months is the kind of thing we are more used to an Aussie or a South African doing.

completely agree.

i know the pace bowling today was almost laughable by India, but I would rate Flintoffs innings today as one of his best ever..England were on the ropes I thought when he came in, but vs the spinners he started building his innings perfectly without ever being in a position where he was being dominated by Harbhajan who was bowling superbly..then after the drinks break (I think after 36 or 37 overs), that was it,an innings of frightening and yet controlled power, with every shot played being the right shot to play to that ball.

And with the bowling, he did a pretty good job today as well,as he usually does in ODI's.

I would go as far to say he is the best game breaking allrounder I have seen in the last 15 years anywhere in the world, and when he bats like he has done this summer, he is a better batsman than anyone of Dev,Botham or Imran Khan without a shadow of a doubt.

One can only sit there and watch in amazment really

Edit: Just saw this on Cricinfo:
... in his last 17 one-dayers, since the middle of last July's NatWest Series, Flintoff averages 87.89 with the bat, and has taken 20 wickets at 19.15.

perhaps thats why he should be ODI captain and later take over from vaughn in tests aswell.

The team is winning under Vaughan. Why would you want to depose him?
