Well this is a completely different argument to your initial one which was simply that the punishment was too harsh for something that you didn't feel was a crime. That was where our disagreement lay.
Practicality could be tricky and no rule is ever going to satisfy everyone, just look at UDRS. I think it's plainly obvious that something as crude is giving the batsman the finger is entirely different from anything you've listed above.
Celebrate the wicket by all means, that's something we all like to see (unless the dismissed batsman is playing for your team of course) but flipping a batsman the Vs is just pointless, unnecessary and unwanted IMO.
Bull**** Marcuss. My initIal argument was nothing of the sort. But, there are two points to it. The first is it's ridiculous to take a wicket away for a send off, the second is even if you want to, how will it be enforced? It's a moot point I think because it won't happen anyways.

But look, it's so subjective a matter - Flintoff with his ridiculous posing for the two tests a year he was fit was borderline, when he did it right in front of a batsman. Lee's tonight would be considered a send off by most anyone I think. When another bloke dismisses someone and strikes the pose Akthar is in that picture, but runs right next to or past a batsman, is that a send off too?

Anyway, it's all moot. Won't happen I think. But I'd be happy for Lee to cop a substantial fine for what he did tonight. Whether he will, who knows?

Deserve to cop a flogging this game.

Brett Lee receives a pass mark. Everyone else should be disgusted that we are going to give up our record in such a meek fashion.

Has Ponting got **** for brains, I mean is he trying to defend these runs here. Never been able to understand his captaincy tactics.

Well Ponting is getting his wish. He suggested in his interview his side hadn't been pushed so far in the tournament and it would be nice to get a challenge, not sure he's going to be too happy with the way his side (or Ponting himself) have reacted to that challenge.

Younis Khan is a superb player

Cannot believe that they favoured that complete joker Yousuf over him when push came to shove

Aussies needed that, shock it was Lee with the wicket. Looked only danger.

Also Burgey and Marcuss should get a room and get on with it.

Well that was against the run of play.

EDIT: Geez, decent follow-up to Misbah there. Nice, nice bowling.

I didn't think you thought send-offs were a problem?
Personally I don't. But if they are going to police them, then he should cop a dine for what he did.

Oh Binga!!!! Fmd, bowling soooo well!!! Two in two!!

Yes Lee carrying this attack today. Very loose from Younis though, poor stroke. The end to his innings probably explains only an average of 32, and six centuries in 211 ODI innings. Weak figures for such a talented batsman.
