International Regular
Shameful from Afghanistan, went from embarrassing Australia to getting embarrassed and giving their arrogant supporters another chance to gloat.

Mujeeb won't have any place to hide. If Yash Dayal needed mental attention after rinku show I. IPL, mujeeb I think will need that and more.

I really am lost for words....Glenn Maxwell....take a bow....Australia vs Afghanistan....Afghanistan made 291...in reply Australia were 7/91 and looking like a monumental upset result and they looked down and out. Glenn Maxwell, survives an LBW decision, is dropped twice...one of the dropped catches dropped by the Afghanistan fieldsman was an absolute sitter. But then Maxwell started to sieze up...his back started playing up....maybe muscle problems or maybe a pinched nerve. Whatever the case, it got so bad that Maxwell could hardly run and in between overs the team physio was on the ground checking Maxwell. He was in so much pain he could hardly get in position to play shots..instead it was all hand/eye co-ordination. In the end Australia don't lose another wicket, and Maxwell ends up making 201 not out which included 21 fours and 10 sixes. Pat Cummins played a good support role too. I've seen a lot of innings in One Day International cricket and a lot of match saving innings and batsman dragging their team over the line but this innings from Maxwell has to rate right up there in my opinion as one of the best innings I have seen - probably on top. Well done Glenn Maxwell.

Now you all know I keep my emotions in check but gee that innings....I have no words...

Maxwell averages 35 at a sr of nearly 130, gives you some handy overs and is a phenomenal fielder. His ODI batting numbers are better than most people's t20 batting numbers FFS. He's a freak, even if he gets out like an idiot sometimes.

I don't want to be Captain Obvious, but without a freak innings Afghanistan and Australia would both be on 10 points with Afgh's nrr improved greatly and Australia's much worse, with NZ and Pak back on 8.

100% agree on this. Can't expect consistency from your number 7, should have the capability to single-handedly win games on his day.
Again, consistency wasn't the criticism. It was taking low percentage shot selections and not using his abilities wisely.

I love Maxwell as a person, he seemed humble and falls off golf carts. And I am stoked for him today. But I stand by saying he was an underachiever for so long, because his approach to batting was muddled. I presume he played smart today, not reverse laps with men back for that shot, when he's very capable of hitting for six with a standard approach

Afghanistan are really bad at closing out games. Have choked quite a few times recently.
As long as Maxwell is there, Australia have a tiny chance of even winning this..
Afghanistan can definitely **** even this up
Maxwell if he hangs around till 200, Afghanistan will get spooked.
Just put £5 on Straya at 33-1
NICE
