***Official***Match #35 - New Zealand vs Pakistan - November 4th - Bengaluru

Flem274*

Heh, a DLS handout for Pakistan here could be seen as an evening up of the 2019 NRR and head to head heartbreak for Pakistani fans. West Indies proved crucial spoilers early in the tournament with their win over Pakistan and they almost got NZ too. That was a last over win iirc.

I reckon they should be bang on target maybe. The fact they're 10 runs over takes the piss
DLS always favors teams who have lost as few wickets as possible. 1 more wicket and DLS par is around 170. Big 20 run jump.

But I agree that 150 is BS. It should be 155-160 in 21 overs.

Is the rain likely to claim the rest of the day? When I checked cricinfo a little while back they said it was a passing shower but now I see a lot of DLS chatter…

At least we shouldn't lose much NRR if we lose but losing after scoring 401 would still be a disaster.
NRR won't be affected. 150 runs ahead if match ends here.

And there are a few idiots here who were laughing about NRR cushion after NZ had posted 400.

Now if it rains out, what is gonna save NZ? NRR.

You're still the idiot about NRR cushion

I don’t think that’s how NRR works in a DLS scenario.

If we had taken just one more wicket we would have been laughing and praying for the rain to continue.

Now we need the rain to stop.

Its not the end of the game. The game with resume with great drainage at Bengaluru. This rain interruption will hurt Pakistan, batsman will lose their rhythm and will have to start from scratch.

UK folk, is there any way of watching this game? Only seem to be showing Eng v Aus on Now.

Assuming it comes back on...

NZ's NRR will barely be affected today because it's a 10 run defeat as of now.

If NZ go on to win then no worries but a defeat here won't be super costly unless NZ-SL game is a washout... AND Pak beats Eng or Afg beats Aus/SA.

As for NZ's NRR, it will only come down a little from +0.48 to around +0.40 maybe. And Pakistan's will rise to about zero I think. Decent buffer but for that to be useful NZ must win vs SL next (if this one is a defeat)

Hopefully match resumes soon and NZ somehow wins and we don't have to care about NRR.

The more overs that are taken off the easier the target will be. They're in a good position.
