I haven't actually seen that criticism tbh but I pretty much shut myself out from all cricket commentary other than this forum and a couple of podcasters I like these days so that might explain why.

I think it's a potentially worthy criticism as to why they might find it hard to develop good bench strength and later bloomers in future, but that's purely a long-term issue. Definitely has nothing to do why established and proven ODI guns are playing like crap here.

Yes 2019 was karma for all the other times that England sucked or came close..

In fact... in 2019 England were only the 3rd best team before the KO stage. They had won 6 games and lost 3.

This side clearly saw the comments and went hold my beer.

At least Afghanistan has some quality bowlers. This isn't even Sri Lanka's first choice FFS.

We don't play any domestic 50 cricket, apart from when the 100 is on, because there's no room in the calendar.

It all comes down to the county set up. We have to have the Blast to get the cash in for the counties.

We have the 100 to try to get some serious money in and with the 4 day championship games there's no space available.

We should get rid of the blast but that won't happen as the counties need the cash.

As we all know with 18 counties, something had to give, and at the moment that's 50 over cricket.
