***Official***Match #22- Pakistan vs Afghanistan- October 23rd-Chennai (D/N)

About 4 pages ago most here were losing their heads at how afg were throwing this game
Afghanistan were 175/1 after 30 overs , it took them 19 overs to get the last 107 runs ..In the end they did stand up and deliver thanks in part to some pressure release changes by Babar Azam but a team that wants to improve Net Run Rate for a chance at last 4 would have finished the game 15 overs max ..
Shahidi played well towards the end yes but he has a history of slowing the game down to a grinding halt, I'm happy for Afghanistan its a great win for them

Pak won two games they should've lost to Afghanistan in the series before Asia cup, so it's fitting they showed Pakistan who is superior in a world cup game

Is it just me or others too have noticed the subtle Russian accent when Afghan players speak English?

I mean I think they played to their strengths here. They aren't that great at chasing big totals. Looking to accelerate and get it done by the 45th over could have sooo easily backfired

Their job is mostly to eliminate few other teams which they achieved. England and now pak both will be eliminated

They should continue to play 4 spinners also. In this game and against NZ they were great at restricting runs. All very talented white ball bowlers

No need to have quicks bowling if they're toothless

That decision to bowl that leggie in the 46th was kinda baffling. They could have stuck with the quicks and at least got it down to the last over and from there hope the pressure was too much
Yeah Babar absolutely messed the bowling around. Probably should have gave spin a few overs when they couldn’t get a wicket in the powerplay. Didn’t bowl his spin options out in the middle order. Then left the quicks late in the death overs with little to defend
