How are you doing buddy? good to see someone else that understands about banter and the true spirit of the game! :)

Was proud of our clinical showing today, as I said the real test today was making sure we all got on the team bus and made it to the ground at 2.30 we achieved that and therefore the game plan was spot on which equalled 2 points!
Hey man I'm doing good. :)

Although I do agree with you on most things, I have to say I don't agree with you on that it was a clinical performance. There's still a lot of room for improvement as far as the team goes. Our fielding and bowling still need some work if we want to win the WC. I still feel we need to show more intensity in the field. As far as batting goes, I'm not concerned, I think the chase today was well executed and gave everyone a chance to go out there and get some time in the middle.

Our performance in the field and with the ball won't cut it if we want to win against the Aussies, and that is my main concern. But, with that said, I am confident that India will get better as the tournament progresses (especially in other venues). The game against South Africa is key, it'll show us where we are standing as a team.

It was by no means a clinical performance. A clinical performance would be Sri Lanka's performance versus Canada, or Pakistan's versus Kenya. We were never really in danger of losing the game, but that doesn't make it a clinical performance. The good thing, though, is that all our batters have now had a hit in this tournament and spent some time in the middle. If Tendulkar and Sehwag had gone nuts and chased the target in thirty overs, Yuvraj and Yusuf wouldn't have got some much needed time in the middle.

Fair points mate, think we are on the same lines in terms of thinking with how we approached our chase.

I agree our fielding can improve and I am sure it will as the level of opponents we face improve.

I also would like to see us bat first and win games I agree chasing is our strength, but we must in the group stages play a match where we bat first and show the rest of the field ie Australia that we can defend a great score, I think that is really important for us.

We are moving in the right direction mate, as I said we can't win the tournament in the group stages but we sure as hell could have lost it.

As it is we the only unbeaten team in our group. I agree the SA team is a massive one for us next week win it we will top the group they will come at us hard after today, but I do feel under pressure is where they are least effective as they showed today, we have every chance once we execute our skills of turning them over.

Your a bit arrogant aren't you?, you seem like a nasty person from that comment...
I dont think you can judge someone based on one comment! and I am not here to get personal with anyone! I gave my view on what my team needed to do to win the match, we executed our skills and got the 2 points! And that sir is all she wrote.

Why didn't you say all we needed to do was execute our skills?, instead you said all you needed to do was to turn up,

I think the post was a bit nasty and not called for or maybe the wording could have been different...

By arriving at the ground on time, making sure the bus was in order and being prompt we effectively did ensure ourselves 2 points.

That was my point I didnt see any harm in saying it,yes on the field we did formalise a result in a very clinical fashion.

Frankly we only really needed one game plan today and we got that spot on, the plan was

TURN UP TO THE MATCH!
That in my opinion was the game plan we needed and we got it spot on! 11 players all their promptly for a 2.30 local time start, that promptness, making sure there were no issues witht he team bus and arriving to the ground on time, were the key components to today's victory IMHO.

Have a nice day too, :) btw what I said was not meant to cause offence I genuienly believe my team can beat anyone if we play to our best and that includes Ireland.

But there is no doubt you are a team on the way up that on their day can trouble and perhaps beat most sides, you should be proud of your team, you could well cause a shock against the Windies or SA!

GOOD LUCK :)

C'mon man you can't say that. Ireland is no pushover, they're a decent team. We did just "turn up" four years ago against Bangladesh, and you saw what happen.

Mate the comment I made was semi serious semi tongue in cheek.

Ireland beat England so while I know that we dont need to be at our best to beat them (as we showed today)

I also know they are a decent up and coming side that on their day can do damange! I was just having some friendly banter with fans I love my team and love banter not here to offend anyone and if I did I am sorry!

Okay :), like you I just love my team and I love Cricket, and we might not be the strongest team and we could lose all our games but I'd still follow the team, I just love the way they play with so much heart...

Much more reasonable comment, fair enough.

Surely you recognise that saying "If we play to our best we can beat anyone" is different to saying "we only have to turn up to win"? And that the latter is an immensely disrespectful and untrue thing to say?

Of course and you have every right to, I have loads of respect for the way the Irish have played in thsi tournament, against England and today even against Bangladesh when you had them on the rack!

My comments were mainly tongue in cheek! Hopefully sooner or later the Powers that be will understand that teams like Ireland stepping up and doing so well is a gerat thing for our game becoming more popular on a global scale! :)

Mate I your passion sums up why your team play the game in the right way :) right result is great but the enjoyment and passion for the game, you cant teach or beat that! :)

Oh trust me, after watching the game against England, I've really started to appreciate and enjoy the way these Irish play their cricket, the heart they've shown is inspiring. And I'm not just saying that. I'll be cheering for them against all the other sides, and hoping they grab the fourth spot for the quarters. :)

Also, the fact that Ireland has beaten 2 of the 3 teams I dislike the most (England and Pakistan) makes me appreciate them even more. :p

Now if they can beat the third team I dislike the most as well, that being Australia, I'll open my own Irish pub.
