For the benefit of us who cannot see the game, would you mind explaining ponting's reaction in a little more detial than cric-info's "livid"

It wasn't close. Let me avoid this "cheating" word, it's a little too controversial these days. Let's just say it was a poor show of unsportsmanlike conduct.

So if its not close and its not out and the fielders know it

vs.

Its close and its not out and the fielders know it

The morality of the two situations is somehow different?

Let's just say he looked like a stupid child throwing his toys of the pram. Absolutely classless display. The rule (is it?) of not calling batsmen back may hold, but there's something called good sportsmanship.

This would rank up there with not walking for me. Unsportsmanlike, but definitely not cheating.

Right. Not in the official sense of the term. That was just me getting livid at them and saying the first word that came to mind: "cheaters".

Only losers have good sportsmanship, probably because they need it so often ;).

No, they're both wrong. I never supported the latter case.

As McGrath ends his first spell without more damage to India it will be a great relief.

Australians: "Go McGrath, get him to make a mistake, he isn't very good anyway"

LOL, I love it. This was when Kaif was at the crease.

adharcric you are the most one sided subcontinent person on this board and if i beleive correctly you were at the centre over the ball tampering scandal
What's the problem? First of all, let's make a few things clear to you. I barely got involved in that ball-tampering scandal. I love the Australian team, probably my favorite after India (of course). I called the unsportsmanlike conduct on some of the Aussies and particularly Punter and you call me the most one-sided subcontinent person on this board? I even took back the "cheater" accusation. Now I won't call you the most one-sided Aussie on here. Cool it.

you call it you reply to absically everyones posts mate just leave it clearly it was the wrong decision by Benson and he will definetly wear the consequences Ponting was ceratintly over the top but he was very unlucky in those circumstances

In other News dravid is gone and now india are 4/50 and have lost 9/85 against Australia in the last two matches now this signals to me that i wouldnt give India even hope in the Chamions Trophy
