Add to that an average of 17 at home, amazing in WI and SA, very good in England(26 is good given he was India’s MOTS in a tied series there)

By the time Bumrah ends his career do you think he would be undisputed best pacer of all time? Longevity might be the only issue holding him back

Only one bowler in history has ever averaged sub 20 after playing 40+ matches (minimum 100 wickets). That was Shaun Pollock who reached a peak average of 19.86 at the end of his 50th match. If Bumrah maintains his sub 20 average here, he will be the second one. No bowler has finished a match with a sub 20 average from his 51st match onwards.

Fun stat: Pollock also had 0 10’fers at that point

There will always be a Pakistan sized asterisk against Bumrah's record. Skipped the roadiest venues of his era. What a fraud.

Edit. Actually, thought I better actually statsguru this before actually posting. And turns out Sri Lanka is roadier than even Pakistan (since his 2018 debut). And he's also skipped playing there. Double fraud.

This is why the world needs an India vs. Pakistan test match series.

Skipped the slow and flat pitches of UAE too. Triple fraud.

May be a quadruple fraud if you also consider that he hasn't played in Bangladesh.

Hasn't skipped playing in SL. Ind haven't toured there since debut.

Going there in 2026. Will be a good series if SL maintain their form.

Haven't had a good Asian series for India since 2015.

That was where Kohli's team started their run by winning there for the first time in 20+ years.

Will prolly be a team w/o any of the guys from 2015 (except KL maybe)
