Only one bowler in history has ever averaged sub 20 after playing 40+ matches (minimum 100 wickets). That was Shaun Pollock who reached a peak average of 19.86 at the end of his 50th match. If Bumrah maintains his sub 20 average here, he will be the second one. No bowler has finished a match with a sub 20 average from his 51st match onwards.

There will always be a Pakistan sized asterisk against Bumrah's record. Skipped the roadiest venues of his era. What a fraud.

Edit. Actually, thought I better actually statsguru this before actually posting. And turns out Sri Lanka is roadier than even Pakistan (since his 2018 debut). And he's also skipped playing there. Double fraud.
