The Wheel is Forever
What in the world was that? Worst drop in history of cricket.
Tanvir so gun
Inspite of their being atop the table, its still a surprise. If they continue to be on top it will be one great argument against "T20 is just a batsman's game".How good are the Royals? So glad I jumped on them early. Frothin.
Not that I disagree with your conclusions in the main, but you've overlooked Graeme Smith .Inspite of their being atop the table, its still a surprise. If they continue to be on top it will be one great argument against "T20 is just a batsman's game".
- The Rajasthan Royal's have just one batsman in the top ten highest rungetters and he is at number nine !! - Watson. The only other batsmen they have in the top 30 are Yousuf Pathan at #14 and R Jadeja at #30 !!
- They have just one batsman in the top ten batsmen with the best average and he is at number ten ! - Watson again. The next batsman they have in the top 25 is Asnodkar at #16 and R Jadeja at #29 !!
A team with Watson, Yousuf Pathan, and the completely unknown Asnodkar and R Jadeja are topping the table !!
They do not have the best strike rate, the highest number of sixes and any centurion.
Even their bowlers (barring Tanvir yesterday) have been unspectacular.
- Of the 13 bowlers who have an economy under 7 they have only 1 (Tanveer).
- Of the next 17 with economy between 7-8 , they have just 1
- Of the 15 bowlers between 8-9, however they have 3.
- Of the 16 bowlers with economy over 9 they have NONE !
Note : Qualification, minimum five overs bowled.
Clearly, here is a team that has no super stars and yet are on top because of everyone chipping in. Whether this kind of sum-total-of little-efforts will continue to keep them on top, is still to be seen but so far their results have been spectacular even though individual performances my not have set the skies alight.
Thanks for pointing out. Corrected. Not that I disagree with your conclusions in the main, but you've overlooked Graeme Smith .
Shane Watson is easily the best all-rounder in the tournament. Shane Warne, easily the best captain. So they're not (in retrospect) doing too badly in talent, while getting the best out of everyone.
Yeah...media was misinterpreting him I think...either intensionally or otherwise...what Gul said was not offensive at all...This is not on any website. I read it on the newsbar of Headlines Today- that large orange bar with white fonts (since you too are in India, you must have come across it). That programme came between 12:00pm and 12:25 pm and they were discussing the Warne-Ganguly tussle as well as these new comments from Gul. I didn't watch any other channel then- and left shortly after, and returned now.
There's no stopping him in ODIs...this boy is the future of Indian middle order in ODIs along with Yuvraj, Dhoni and probably one between Uthappa, Raina and Badrinath...Love watching Rohit Sharma bat.
Not recall really, he was out for injury...Ishant and Zaheer have no real competitors at this moment for opening bowling in ODIs.Zaheer has struck some form here in the IPL. He's picked up at least two wickets a match, regained a lot of pace and bowled with bulldozer force to help his team's chances a lot. He's also a lot more agile on the field and his throwing arm has improved. A national recall, maybe?
mm? lol
That's quite natural in any turnament...Isn't it?Heavily weighted to those who have played more matches itbt.
Dwayne Bravo is a very good bowler in limited overs cricket...Sanath, Shoaib Malik and Karthik still struggle to score runs. Karthik out leg-before to-guess who- Dwayne Bravo- with keeper standing up.
I picked him as captain at the start...Now he's not the captain any more...still is there in the team...Shaun Pollock is a strong contender for Man Of Match. He's taken two wickets for 16 and scored 33 runs at over a run a ball, with two huge sixes. I wonder how many still picked him (and as captain) despite his dreadful run of form earlier in NW18's IPL fantasy league.
So if the pitch assists batsmen then it's a good cricket pitch, but if it assists bowlers then it isn't!!!....So you might have liked the first match between KKR and BRC more than yesterday's MI vs. DD...but I did the opposite...Absolute disgrace of a pitch. How dare they make a pitch that gives assistance to the bowlers so they can make the batsman work for their runs, and at times made to look foolish. Absolute disgrace and it's just not cricket.
there was better one in ICL though4-0-14-6...best figures in T20 history.
Turn on the old sarcasm radar, I think....So if the pitch assists batsmen then it's a good cricket pitch, but if it assists bowlers then it isn't!!!....So you might have liked the first match between KKR and BRC more than yesterday's MI vs. DD...but I did the opposite...
If you never want pitches to assists bowlers, why have them at all? Just place some bowling machines and then let batsmen have a go...
