Ok, so that bit of argument is from last edition of IPL. My takeaway is that Prithvi is stubborn (and stupid?) enough to turn Ponting's offer for a one-on-one session to sort his batting issues.

BCCI compensate Shreyas Iyer for lost IPL salary on account of injury. That'd be a sum in the vicinity of USD 1 million.

Wasn't aware of this insurance scheme for contracted players.

Or may be he was mentally just out of it and wanted to be away from the game for a bit?

Yeah, I think having a session when you're tired and out of it might not have been best. Maybe if they set it up for a later date it would have worked out fine. I think it's an opportunity missed but maybe he just needed a break for a while.

Hopefully this IPL we see the end of Jasprit Bumrah being rated as a good bowler. I always thought he is overrated. Simply relies on pace, unlike someone like Bhuvi, Cummins or Archer, who are metronomic control bowlers with extra bounce. All Bumrah does is the yorker, even that he messes up sometimes.

Mohammed Siraj is in incredible form. He always had the skill, now he has the belief that he is India's best bowler. Hope Kohli backs him and doesn't drop him for big WC matches due to Bumrah-fetish (I empathise with Shami for WC2019).

Siraj has a lot to prove in white ball cricket, no matter how impressive he was in his Tests so far.

Siraj wasn't just impressive, he outbowled every single bowler by miles over the past few months. He was certainly India's MVP in Australia, and the biggest factor in retaining Border-Gavaskar. I am certain he will deliver in white ball too.

He's been good without being great in the IPL editions I've seen him in so far.

Needs to make a big leap to be as good as you're hoping he will be.

You know what as an RCB fan if Mumbai Indians agree that Bumrah is overrated would be happy to swap him for Siraj
